Here's a pretty good video of that win over SVSM. Mason and teammate Evan Bainbridge with some nice plays here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qp3-c4B3DUk

He's looks smoother with the basketball than Gareri does. Has a decent handle for a guy his size and good vision. Obviously shows some good passing skills as well.

Here's the article from Friday's win which akroncat mentioned.

Now I'm kinda curious about this Bainbridge kid. He looks pretty athletic and a little more active than McMurray.

Stow is now 18-3 and can clinch their conference title with a win over Brecksville on Friday. Brecksville beat them earlier in the year.

Scroll through to March 3 and you can watch Stow's full game with Wadsworth. Broken up by half.

Thanks for that link.

After watching that, we might be getting another Treg Setty-type high energy guy. He's a better shooter than Treg was out of high school, but we need a guy like that to bring some fire off the bench. I like it.

First team all state in DI:

Increasingly, for me, Mason feels like a sleeper, or a steal of a signing that others may have missed on.

Mason participated in a local all-star game this week. He won the dunking contest and was leading scorer on his team with 22 points. He also had the most rebounds with 8.

I hope he works out and I have no reason not to trust the current staff, but does anyone else find it weird that our first commit is a guy with no composite recruiting profile and no other reported D-1 offers besides High Point?
You're leaving out Loyola.
That's interesting .....NOW.

Reading through this thread I am surprised to see that he was announced first team. Would not have thought that many folk had seen him from reading through here.

Looks like Jason Carter had offers only from Ohio and Kent State. I assume the only explanation is guys were recruited by Ohio so well they just told other schools not to bother, and that's why there are not tons of offers.

Really looking forward to seeing this guy in the Convo in November.

Mason led the Summit all-stars over the Stark all-stars last night. He had 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. The coach who was Mason's in high school, said he was the player of the game and he played well and showed his versatility.

Seconded that I'm looking forward to seeing Mason play. I think the small number of offers logic probably applies to Mr. Dartis as well. I think he only had a couple besides Ohio, and he was a very early commit if I recall.

Great news!

Perhaps, Saul knows how to recruit after all.

Not sure how many points a player scores in a glorified pickup game, where nobody plays defense and the final is 125-115, should be used as a barometer for how good a recruiter any coach is. Now, you might have an argument if Mason does this against UB in the Convo next winter.

Squared...at least it shows he can run with the top players in the state and score. So it's better than if he scored 3 points. Agree the real test will be how he does against college competition. But the indicators are looking good at the moment.
