Another easy win for AJ. Ellet beat Garfield 84 to 54. He had 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Keep those double doubles coming!
And his stats on D? "Double/Doubles" only help on end of the court......unless one or other of them is blocks or steals....(or forced turnovers)

Watching DT in limited minutes last year and this year makes me wonder if he can be a better rebounder and shot blocker that TC.

He's already a better defender, and a good rebounder.

Wonder if he's still getting back in shape from the ankle injury?

Ellet lost for the first time last night to Wadsworth. AJ had 33 points, 6 rebounds and two blocks. Maybe more importantly, he make 14 free throws. I do not know how many he shot. Somebody will need to balance Doug Taylor next year.

Doug will be fine next year. He's going to have Jaaron, Darty, Block and Carter starting with him and providing outside shooting. Then you bring the wrecking crew off the bench with Gareri, Butler, Laster and Culver and it's another deep team. That doesn't even count a stronger and more mature Gollon and another year older Dozier. And we don't know how good Vander Plas is. Next year will be year 4. It will be interesting.

Do you ever not list every player on the roster when you post? You could be the new Optimist. Wrecking crew of Gareri, Butler, Laster and Culver? What exactly has that group wrecked thus far?

Not really sure if Gollon or Dozier will develop into players that ever get serious minutes. Many thought Harley would actually play this year too and I got blasted by some 2 months ago when I said he wasn't a rotation guy. Last time I checked, he doesn't play.

I think Harley would realistically be a rotation guy if he were healthy. You have to wonder at what point his back problems force him to hang up the sneaks.

AJ had 22 points in an overtime win (57 - 53)against Lake which usually has very good teams. He also had 8 rebounds. Ellet is now 7-1 for the year.

Unfortunately, Ellet lost to Buchtel last night in the Akron City League. AJ was the leading scorer for the game with 19 points and he also had 6 rebounds.

I just had a conversation with AJ and his father. I was working out at a physical therapy center and noticed a tall young man who had a sprained ankle. Someone said AJ so I introduced myself as a loyal Bobcat and we talked for a minute. He just has a right ankle sprain and should be OK in a short while although he was on crutches. He certainly seemed to be the 6'9" he is listed. He is pretty thin and will need some weight and muscle to survive in the MAC. He and his father seemed glad that I asked about him. I mentioned that at least he only had a sprain, not a broken foot like Campbell and we were all sad for Tony.

AJ is back in business. Ellet beat a decent Firestone team last night by 10 points. Nice article in the Akron Beacon Journal about the game. AJ had 21 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and did not start. The paper said he was 6'9" and 230 lbs. He had missed the last 4 games with an ankle injury. He should be fired up after today win over Akron.

Akroncat,

Since you seem to be in the know about AJ, can you comment on his game a little bit? What's he like? Where does he like to play on the floor?

A couple of folks over on the Zips message board mentioned he's like Kenny and can only shoot the three ball.

From what I've seen on video, I disagree with the Zips fans. I heard that Akron came in kind of late and recruited him, but it was too late to change his mind.

I think he's got a balanced game.
