One of the things that impressed me while watching the videos of him play was his ability to block shots off of the block. Not sure if he is super quick, sneaky long or (hopefully) both, but he was able to block quite a few jump shots from the videos I saw... WOW!

Thanks for the update!

Not normal for a player to be UPgraded after verballing to a midmajor like Ohio.  This is a good sign, folks.

It's interesting to see that Tariq has been elevated to four-star recruit status. The consideration he received from high major programs, which I assume he's been backing up with his play of late, seems to have raised some eyebrows and his stock. Good for him! I'm also hopeful that the perception of the level of player Ohio can attract finally is changing. When you look over the past few years, John Groce deserves credit for finding a diamond in Caris Lavert, who I don't believe was rated at the time he committed to Ohio. Wonder if Caris would have been rated if he originally had committed to Michigan? Then in only two recruiting years, coach Christian has brought in two transfers who were top 100 high school players and a JC transfer who had high major program offers. I'm confident the scouting gurus are taking notice that Ohio is attracting some high major talent, so maybe our recruits will start to get more respect than they have in the past.

Looking at those updated rankings, I see a point guard named Robert Johnson listed one spot ahead of Tariq at spot 85... I don't know who we need to make a deal with but, it would be nice to have a point guard who could sit for one year to learn the ropes and then take over when Stevie and Bean are done...

Would he have to sign his LOI down at the crossroads??

I just was looking on the Twitter feed of Tariq's AAU team to see if I find if they are playing locally anytime soon and I came across a couple of interesting notes on a couple of his AAU teammates:

Bmore's Finest @BMoresFinestAAU 1 Jul

"Bmore's Finest 2014 5'11/G Kamau Stokes interest from Richmond,Toledo,UNCG,Robert Morris,GMU,Delaware,Temple, Abillene University&Ohio"

Bmore's Finest @BMoresFinestAAU 1 Jul

2014 Jordan McNeil of Mt. St. Joe (MD) getting interest from UAB,Ohio,USC,Central Connecticut State ,Washington,Morgan St

Wow, check out that TAAG Academy, it's essentially a basketball school, and I do not mean its a school where basketball is important, I mean a school that is about basketball

I have never seen anything like that, I live down here in Tampa...will have to catch a game if I can figure out where they play.  That website is horribly out of date.

ESPN is now showing an offer from Georgetown. I guess they were the school that came in late and tried to steal Tariq?

Offers from Georgetown, Miami (FL), and VCU - have we had a recent recruit that selected Ohio over such competition?

Lets not forget Temple as well. Gotta love beating Temple at anything, and they're a great basketball program as well
