It seems to me that Springs needs to become a significant contributor for us to have a good team this year. Without a strong consistent inside presence ( I have doubts that Ogbanda can be that by himself), we will have trouble defending and rebounding against teams with good big men.
In a way, I disagree. I agree that we'll need to have someone with a decent inside presence, and someone else to back that player up, but it doesn't have to be anyone specific in my opinion. There are three other guys - BVP, McMurray, and Foster who could end up filling that role as one of the 5 men.
There are tons of good NCAA teams out there that get by with average bigs that also have loads of good guards/wings. It seems like we have good guards and wings in spades, and that model worked will for UB recently, and has worked well for Villanova for years. I'm excited to see how the style of play looks in a few months!
