He's got an outside shot but it's hard to tell from this or his team video much else.

In the short video provided, I saw a player who is long, with long arms; that's great! He appears to be a quick leaper and times his shot blocks. May have the range of a stretch four, although there's no way to know what percentage he converted from out there. Flashed a bit of a handle. As with most high schoolers with his build, definitely will need to get a lot stronger. It's only a small sampling, but this is the type of 6-10 or over player I'll usually take a flyer on. I don't know the numbers from his junior season, but don't be surprised if his stats take a quantum leap as a senior.

More dunks and swats and whatnot here. Looks like a Wadly clone.

Wow! That last video was fun to watch. Great shot blocking! I feel good about Saul figuring out how to use him best... Now let's see if we can get Nathan to agree.

Go Bobcats!

No offense because I think Wadly is a great person who had tough luck with his Crones...but I don't want a Wadly clone ever again.

That being said, this kid looks great. Boxes out and swats shots. I can imagine him at center with Carter at power forward, Kirk and Butler running the show and Vander Plas standing tall at the 3!

I get where you're going, however a healthy Wadley would have been a really good player to have contributing a bunch of minutes a game. I fully believe he may have started his last two years were it not for his health concerns.

Back to Mr. Springs, I like the anticipation I saw on the highlights related to blocking shots. I'd be interested to see more than just the highlights though.

A healthy Wadly would have been tremendous. I agree he would have started the past 2 years and would have been a difference maker. Look at his double-double against a good FGCU team to start the season two years ago. He flashed potential. I feel for the kid and hope he ends his career well at Arkansas Little Rock

This kid is not on the radar much here in Charlotte. I'll have to take in a game of his this year. By the way one of the last guys from these parts...dion byrum. Maybe this kid will provide as many thrills.

I had to bite my tongue and not comment until now. I met him and his mom at the Ohio University Inn when they made their visit. The next day they were leaving and I saw them again there and said, 'I hope you had a nice visit'. Mom answered back that they had had a very nice visit. Just got the feeling that this young man was going to commit. I am 6'8" and I was looking up. Solid 6' 10" and who knows, another inch or two of growth left?

I don't care that Nate didn't put up big numbers his junior season. Having watched the video, I'm TOTALLY excited about this kid's potential! From this video, he's got feet, he's got athleticism, he's got spring (no pun intended!), he's got hands, he's got timing on blocks, he can sink a jump hook with either hand, he can rock the rim with dunks. I expect him to have a big uptick in production this high school season, maybe not as much as Jaxson Hayes, but really significant. I can't tell you when I've been so excited about a kid coming to Ohio! It's way too early to tell or to put this on him, but with his size and athleticism, he could end up being the missing piece we've been looking for for decades to lead us to the next level.

Flomo would be a God send. If he adds about 20lbs of muscle keeps his arm up on his jump hooks, he can own the MAC. He has the tools, the question will be can we turn him into a double double machine.

Lots of potential to like about this kid. Grow into that body and learn from the older guys as frosh. Hard to find that kind of length AND athleticism. I'm hoping this is an early find and the staff grooms him into something special.

It's gonna sound negative, but I hope he's better than Flomo. We seem to put Flomo on this pedestal around here sometimes, and forget that other than being a tremendous shot blocker, he wasn't that spectacular of a big man.

Of course we're talking about two entirely different era's and coach staffs. Honestly, I like the Wadley comparison a lot, and hope that comes to fruition. If it does, Nathan, in my opinion, is a great signing.

Nobody has signed any thing yet. Only a verbal commit and we know how binding those are these days.

If we get this kid to sign on the dotted line it couldn't work out better for us. He will get a year of tutelage behind Doug, who couldn't be any better of a mentor, and then he could be our center for 3 years, even teaming with Carter for a season.

Now let's go get a forward/wing. When you look at the recruiting grid it's only Block right now. I understand that Vander Plas is a wing as well but we need someone in that spot who handles the ball and shoots well.

Kid has transferred from Myers Park) one of the larger schools in the city and state to United Faith (a small private school that has been busted for illegally recruiting). United Faith plays a weak schedule given the talent they have. I expect his numbers will go up, but take them with a grain of salt. Player of similar route was Peter Jurkin East TN via Indiana (from United Faith).

Hopefully this kid has more going for him. Sounds like he might as offers went from Chowan College to Boston U in the past summer. But I expect a fair amount of college coaching and conditioning before he hits the floor with any consistency - will probably not play much during Carter years.

Certainly like that he and his mother committed after seeing the campus - so they know a great school and campus when they see one.

Fair point, but in basketball, most of the time it is.
