I cannot wait to see it. The first game in late fall I will be giddy. And i can't wait to see pictures of the install.

But right now...months after we found out it was happening, with no media coverage of it to speak of...woopity do?
I say we take a pool $5 a name and the winner is the person who correctly identifies the first person to complain about said new board.
That sounds a lot like gambling.
Now that is REALLY funny.

Not gambling if you know your gonna win
Now I'm going to have to try hard to figure out *what* the first gripe is. It will be too loud, too bright, too big, not big enough, horrible angle, bad promotions, gross kiss cam, too many replays, not enough replays, showing people standing for defense, and playing too much piped in music taking up too much time from the 110. Or something else?

The 12 students remaining in the o zone will be unable to see the board because the bobcat black seats will be blocking their view.

That's funny Ben because Lou would never complain about anything.

The scoreboard is meaningless. It won't help us play better or add to watching the game.

Good point but Jeff's also a stand for defense guy too. In terms of the bet, looks like all the complaining happened back when the scoreboard was becoming a reality. That said, I'll bet you a beer that there will be complaining long before I say anything. :)

Does anyone know if the tents set up in the tailgating area are for scoreboard assembly? There's one really large one and a smaller one. I'll be poking my head in the Convo often in the next few weeks to check on progress.

Neither - just an "all call" to see if he was still out there somewhere.

Our scoreboard is going to be 21' wide and 11' tall on the sideline side, and 14' wide and 9' tall on the baseline sides.

That's pretty good compared to other college basketball boards. In 2015 Ole Miss claimed they had the largest video board in college basketball. Four displays each 22' wide and 11.5' tall.

Purdue put out a new board in 2017 that was 20' wide and 13' tall.

Clemson in 2016 got a huge board that 28' wide and 16' tall.

Just for context since a lot of people have been to or seen a Cavs game. Their Humongotron has sideline screens of 56' wide and 31' tall, and baseline screens of 33' wide and 29' tall.

I have no context of how big it will look in the Convo, which is why I said that. I "think" it will be fine, though.

The humongotron is a bit oversized I think. Have caught myself watching it after game play started as it just dominates the arena. Sounds like the dimensions for the Convo are about right.

For anyone who has been to Alumni Arena in the past few years, the screens on UB's scoreboard are 14' by 8' and I've never had any complaints even sitting at the top of the stands - given UB's arena is smaller your dimensions should fit the Convo really well.

I had no idea installing scoreboards would be such a big undertaking. I figured it would take about two weeks max.
Nothing is ever simple or straightforward in Athens. It's always been thus. But one historical example: The Board of Trustees first authorized a medical school in 1823. OU-HCOM enrolled it's first class in the fall of 1976!
Deliberate progress - now there's a term fitting for academia - as to beloved Ohio goes back further. The university was chartered in Boston as part of the Northwest Ordinance in 1787. Took "only" 17 more years to establish the U.

Perhaps we are simply running late... like the football scoreboard that was supposed to be ready for the first game in Peden.

Is there anything we can hang off the front of the scoreboard to obstruct our views of it a little? You know, so it feels like home?

Don't worry...I give it about 27 seconds into the 2018-19 season until we have our first clock malfunction. We're gonna be just fine.
