This feels like another lost season ... and we're three games in.
Let's hope they find a way to put it together before March. Doubtful, though.
Dude, really, three games into the season and just the first loss and it already feels like "another lost season" to you??? Get a grip man. And already jumping ahead to doubts in March?? Its mid-November. I thought your premature comments on football were ridiculous but you just outdid yourself with this one. You're the ultimate pessimist, ready to make a mountain out of a mole hill the second a loss occurs. Do yourself a favor and start following Alabama in football and Duke in basketball because Ohio is never going to make you happy in ever.
I don't think there's anything wrong with saying that it feels like another lost season- because it does. Saul is working without an extension. Whether you are pro or con Saul, that is bad. Bad for recruiting and bad for the current team. This is a year long lame duck deal.
The game yesterday gave me the same thoughts as Bshot (I admit I agree with him also on Football, so my bias is clear) and between the listless play, the awful game plan, and the lack of pure outside shooting its going to be a long year. Can it change starting Sunday? Sure! I hope it does- but given all the factors I don't see it.
A few random notes-
Why was Carter in the game with 5 min left and down 28? The floor had moisture and game way out of hand.... why risk your best player who has a history of leg injuries in a meaningless spot?
The question about "pounding the ball inside more" well aside from Carter, who is going to do that? Ohio tried a little, but the D didn't allow it- the USF D did give up tons of open 3 looks which as you all know were missed at an incredible rate.
The Kirk tech was a terrible call. He reacted like anyone would- his head was almost blown off. In real time it is the natural reaction. In slo mo he looks like he's faking it. That call is way too subjective to make. In a 30 point loss no big deal, but what if it was a close game?
BVP looks like he can grow in to a nice player. I think Preston can too. McMurray looks so awkward to me, but I like his passing skills. Murrell is the 2018-19 version of EDoz at this point. His miss yesterday was cringeworthy.
So on to Sunday...
