X board is saying that three of their rotation guys, including two starters, are battling illness. They could be down to a 8 or 7 rotation.
I've heard that kinda stuff before.
plus, its Crosstown Shootout week...X cant help but overlook the Bobcats a wee bit.

How can they count that basket at the end of first half when the game clock stopped?

Did I hear the buzzer go off early as well?

It looks like they basically calculated what the clock would be had it kept running to see if he got the shot off, and how much time was left. The clock should not have stopped. I want to be mad but he pretty clearly hit the rim for a new shot clock, and pretty clearly got the 2nd shot off before the clock would have ran out.

I get the ruling. Just don’t think I’ve seen a basket scored with the clock stopped other than free throws

The refs are awful, they are anticipating fouls. Let the young men play, sheesh

TK the point guard who can't see the floor, and only knows where the rim is when the ball is in his hands.

On the flip side, nice progress game by Preston so far.

How about we call a timeout and make some adjustments? Let’s not let the lead go from 7 to 30.

They just had better touch around the rim tonight...we missed a lot of make-able shorties and they were making some incredible short jumpers and fadeaways. Scruggs was incredible.

I can't complain much about being down 5 with 6 to go at Xavier. Upsetting that it looks like a blowout in the end...just went ice cold in the final 6 minutes. Something we know we are prone to.

We ended the game with three timouts and had zero clue on offense last ten minutes of the game. Why are we paying saul 500k. He never made adjustments when they threw the zone at us. Too many turnovers and missed free throws. This team has potential but its a question if they will figure it out on a consistent basis.

Year five and still waiting for that signature Saul win. X was vulnerable tonight without its star point guard and the scoreboard still said it was another 20 point loss for Saul. We go on a 27-11 run and somehow lose by 21. Do you realize how difficult that is to do? That truly sums up the Saul era. As for Kirk...6 more turns. He's reckless and not a PG...but we all know that. On to the next one.

Does ice cold result from lack of ability to adjust? Maybe lack of ability to adjust lead to the team going ice cold?

Either way, this game was ripe for the picking. Saul did not get out coached, he just did not coach when it mattered. One thing for sure, he sure as hell showed up for the post game with Russ. The standard no accountability statements. At one point he sounded like former Vikings coach Denny Green, stating something like "We thought we were a good team before the game, and we think we are a good team now." Excuse me while I puke Saul.

I'd like to think what it is ought to be pretty clear by now if you watch most of the games. Whether we like it or not, or every game's result, is a different story.

I'm personally tired of the tolerance for some of TK's issues. Seems like he needs to practice with two guys guarding him all the time, forcing him to open his eyes and get rid of the ball under pressure. Sort of a 6 on 5 approach.

I liked what I saw from everyone else this evening for the most part. Carter is simply a beast, and should be dominant in MAC play. Dartis and/or Gollon are sorely needed in my mind for long term success.

Given what I've seen from the rest of the MAC, other than UB, I still think this team can compete for the top quarter of the conference.

Never would have known that without the FS1 announcers reminding the viewers every five minutes. Either these two announcers are totally biased for the Big East team or they are completely ignorant (not once mentioning Ohio playing without its 2 best shooters).

+1 I agree also, TK has regressed since last year. He can not distribute the ball. He's good going to the basket if there's an opening. HE IS NOT A POINT GUARD. Let Preston take over that job.

[/QUOTE]my wife got tired of me screaming at the tv tonight about valuing a possession. i saw a lot of good tonight, but golly, we just don't value the ball. silly turnovers, poor shot selection early in a possession. how many trips down the floor at a critical time did we not even get a shot off? this one's on saul. the other coach made adjustments and it changed the game completely.

it wasn't only kirk. block made several poor decisions. someone posted that we had three timeouts left. i'm not a college coach, but at least call a timeout to have a discussion when they pushed it to 10.

we looked completely lost when they went zone. i know we don't shoot the three great, but when we were in rhythm we looked ok with the three. 65-60 and then the wheels fell off with no help from the sideline. i've been willing to give saul a pass because of injuries the past two years, but if he wants the team to figure things out on the floor without him, i'll stand on the sidelines for half what they're paying him.

Given that their contract is too cover the Big east, this is not terribly surprising. I actually thought they were OK, though not excellent.

We're playing without Dartis and Gollon. You fair weather fans are pathetic. Quit watching and following if it's so bad. It's a damn game .. not life and death.

Overall pretty OKish with the game. Certainly didnt like the final score, but as Ruck said Ohio was in it with 6 minutes to go. Turning point was when Ohio got a tipped ball steal and Gavin looked to pass ahead and mistimed/misjudged the pass and got called for a travel. Never recovered after that.

Carter dominated the paint and Preston had himself his best college game yet. I'm liking what I see. Just keep chopping down those ugly TOs and feeding Carter, DT and BVP in the paint. Let them distribute on kick outs. It opens up everything.

Though I'm not a professional, I have them once in awhile. I get frustrated only because his ability to beat defenders off the bounce is fantastic. He can draw the double getting into the lane better than anyone since DJ. But his ability to sense the double seems baaaadddd.

In MAC play, I think that trio is gonna be tough to deal with for most teams.
