North Florida 102-89/Home (There is also a North FLA directional?)
Florida Memorial 108-67/Home (I musta "forgot" about this FLA school)

Losses:
Fordham 77-83/Away
Arkansas 89-121/Away
USF 73-82/Home

95.6 pts a game/opps 83.3 (OHIO 74.9/opps 73.6)
3's 9.2/30.3% (OHIO 5.9 game/29.5%)
39.0 Rbds game (OHIO 40.5)
17.3 assts/15.0 TO's game (OHIO 14.9/16.4)

Looks like more of a contest than I would have expected. Should be fast paced game - and OUr depth will be tested.

Can you imagine the outrage if we played a schedule like that?

You'd probably love it. I know you've always wanted to see Ave Maria in the convo.

I saw Florida International opponent, Youngstown St., give Central Michigan everything they could handle and more, thus resulting in three overtimes, which the Penguins eventually lost. Don't get much of sense, otherwise, from Florida International's schedule of how good they are this year.

I've heard that in football they've had a few successful Hail Marys over the years. Not sure about basketball.

I'm pretty sure some are outraged every time a schedule is released.

FWIW, FIU's BPI rank is 231, with a 346 strength of schedule and 129 strength of record. Ohio's BPI is 165, with a 212 SOS and 131 SOR.

That schedule is awful, lol. I think that we did a good job scheduling this year.

I concur, for the most part. I'm not a fan of scheduling 'real' games against teams like Wilberforce. I'd rather see a road game than that. Otherwise, I think this year's schedule is outstanding.

Messenger reports that Gollon has been practicing for a couple of weeks. Sounds like decision to play him is a game time one. The continued silence regarding Jordan suggests that he is not coming back this year.

FIUs stats are somewhat skewed due to several games against non Div I opposition.

They have been winning by forcing tons of turnovers---about 23 per game to be exact. They convert these into many scoring opportunities. Also, they get 5o the line a lot more than the opposition....but only make 64%.

They arent a good three point shooting team at 30%, but we know what happens in the Convo sometimes.

Key is to take care of the ball, stay in front of them on defense and limit dribble drives, switch quickly and/or rotate well, and to establish an inside game.

Need to drop an old washer and dryer in Athens to go to Virginia today. Think I will catch the game. If I'm there and there's no webcast I'll try to put it up on periscope @freebird6

Officially done with these SaulCats. No way we win more than 7 MAC games and it is all his fault. Analyze recruiting, play-calling or whatever. He cannot handle anything above D2/Summit.

Excellent scouting report Jeff. Unfortunately we did none of those things and still got a W.

Love it when the Cats win and fans jump ship! OSU is taking applications on their bandwagon.
