Yale, without their best player, smoked Akron in Texas last night.

This conference is so bad. 2024-2025 will most likely go down as one of, if not, the worst season of MAC hoops ever.
If the MAC would ditch football, just think how good basketball could be!

Kent State, who have seemed like the top dog in the MAC so far, squeaked out a 4-point win over Hiedelberg. Yikes!!

Let’s drop basketball and put money into football where we have success

LOL, just parroting how silly a few of these people are who have been beating that drum for years, they actually root for OHiO to fail.

I said the same thing in a different thread, but I'm still not sweating this season. 6-6 isn't where we want to be, but there is no clear #1 in this league right now. Kent squeaked by Hiedleberg. Akron got hammered vs a .500 Ivy League team. Toledo lost by 30 to 4-9 Oakland.

We have no idea where we shake out right now. Hopefully we're learning what we can and can't do with these early games - cause the real season starts next week.

Akron (7-5) v Princeton (10-4). Princeton came back to win it with a 3-pointer with 1.8 remaining. Akron misses desperation 3 at the buzzer. Akron was up by 11 at halftime. Princeton finished 7th in Myrtle Beach...

According to the MAC board, Kent's Morgan Safford is out for the season with a hip injury. I fully expect him to play next year, someway somehow.

Saturday is going to be LIT! Four ranked vs ranked games. Seven more games involving ranked team vs a team with at least 10 wins. The only ranked games not fitting these are Arizona @ 16 Cincinnati and 19 Gonzaga @ Loyola Marymount.

Brutal loss for BG last night against Akron. In control until the final two minutes when Akron hit four 3's in a row. Typical ugly Groce Akron win.

Ball State beats Kent. The latter got pummeled on the boards 39-26.

Sparks and Pierson combine for 21 of those 39 rebounds.

Oxford with 6 in double figures as they destroy Buffalo.

Two Buffalo guards score in the 20's. Hopefully on Tuesday 'Reef can slow down one of them.

I would power rank Miami #1 in the MAC right now. They beat Ball on the road when Kent lost to them at home. 2-0 in conference and no completely terrible losses. Controlled the teams they were supposed to control. Kam Craft is going to be a problem for us. They have 10 wins through 14 games for the first time since the 2004-05 season when they finished the year #1 in the standings, and lost to Ohio in the semis. bitches.

Begrudgingly agree. Rivalry renewed.

Anybody catch any of the Arizona St-Kansas game a few nights back? I noticed there were two MAC transfers on the floor in a big early season game. David Coit (NIU) for Kansas and Basheer Jihad (Ball St) for Arizona St. Looking at stats, Jihad is having a pretty good early run for the Sun Devils. Coit seems to be getting limited minutes off the bench. He was a scorer for NIU, averaging 21ppg last year. Just 5ppg so far early this year with the Jayhawks.

OHIO goes for 100+, Ball State gets 91 and at the half both Miami and Akron are >50 points scored.

Bad defense, bad teams or hot shooting?

TIL former Ball State coach Billy Taylor is the head man at Elon. The Phoenix are 125 in the NET rankings which would be third best in the MAC. Starting lineup goes 6-3, 6-5, 6-7, 6-11, and a 7-4 guy who has spent time at Utah and St. Mary's.

Gottlieb's Green Bay Phoenix on the verge of their first conference win and victory since before Thanksgiving against YSU, but the Penguins just yammed the best dunk I've seen all year.

Caught the end of Santa Clara beating Gonzaga in Spokane for the first time since 2007 last night. And BYU-Utah was an awesome OT battle too.

Spoke too soon. YSU erased an 11 point deficit and won and threw down a windmill to boot. Dunks are fun.

Ok, onto FTTH.

Turn on Kansas/Houston. Going to 2OT. It's like a different sport from last night.

Two MAC plays should absolutely be on SC top 10 tomorrow. Miami's Eian Elmer with an and-1 hammer vs Toledo. Then Ball State's Jamari Hill in the closing seconds of overtime with a game winning two hand balls in your jaws drive and poster vs EMU.

Two Ohio teams (Miami and UT) with winning conference records lose on the road today versus two Michigan teams (WMU and EMU) with losing conference records.

And . . . first-place Akron, with the nation's longest winning streak, visits CMU (4-7 MAC record), Ohio's next opponent, later this evening.

Gotta love MACtion.
