If Saul stays, he needs to reconsider using zone defenses against more athletic teams. Most mid majors that continually beat power 5 teams have a particular offensive or defensive strategy that gives them a competitive advantage against the power 5.
Wait, IF?
If you're Jim Schaus and you bring him back, good luck selling a single season ticket for year six of #SaulBall
"Turn out the lights, the party's over..."
I'll ask this: Why is it automatically assumed that Jimbo isn't feeling heat as well? Why is it that so few people are willing to ask this? Y'all rail on Saul, and deservedly so this year, but why does Schaus get a free pass? His is, after all, the CEO of the whole operation.
Other than the hire of the men's basketball coach not working out, are there a number of other glaring problems or reasons why Schaus should be considered for removal?
Others have cited other coaching hires. I'm less familiar with other sports outside of football/basketball, so I'll leave that to them. I will cite the general staleness that permeates the Convo on game day in terms of atmosphere, and how the whole thing just feels in terms of the excessive security, the damn barriers, moving the whole upper level to being GA, etc.
I'll say this - the experience I had at BG the other night with over 500 walk-up SRO tickets sold was infinitely better than the last few years in Athens with less of a crowd. They got people in and out through concession lines, security, etc, much, much faster. Oh, and every concession stand was open too. And I didn't have yellow shirts questioning my every move. If not all of that falls on the CEO of the Ohio Athletic department, and instead falls elsewhere, forgive me. My perception is that most of it is the responsibility of Ohio Athletics, and if that's the case, they can do better. In fact, I think they did noticeably better about 3-4 years ago.
