I'd rather keep it here.

No offense to the other threads, but my primary watch is the basketball's (main and recruiting) and football's (main and recruiting). Outside of the occasional peak into the general university thread, no reason for me to dive in, especially when Webb has almost run Volleyball into the ground. Just my 2 cents

In addition, they have been a pleasant relief to see here and have people notice when I'm not distracted by the potential arrival of TOS again.....

I voted no simply because I’m more likely to view a thread for the women basketball if it’s here rather than go to a separate board. Maybe if there was one combined women’s sports board I’d check in every so often. But my main hits are mens bball and football, with occasional check ins on other boards if something big is going on with baseball or volleyball.

Yes it was an embarrassing loss. Fortunately, I was in a meeting, and didn't watch the game. My wife sent me some text message updates, and I listen to the last five minutes as I was driving home. Well, the announcers weren't really calling the game at that point, so I really didn't listen to it. I did hear the shortest post game coaches show in recent history.

The performance was horrible, pathetic, and disgusting! Is that good enough for you? But, I'm not going to take gratuitous shots at Saul or his team.

I never called out anyone by name so don't imply that I did. The program as a whole is embarrassing and the women's program is succeeding. Each should have their own board.

While I see your point, what I see happening, though, is the ladies will make it to the NCAA Tournament while the men get knocked out of the MAC Tournament in the first round and people will pay more attention to the men's malady. This might enhance the chance for some good women's team discussion without the threads getting knocked down toward the bottom of the column.
Or you end up with the same five or so posters talking about women's hoops. I think keeping it here will get more of the casual fans paying attention and possibly becoming diehards.

Ohio W Basketball get ignored just like the Ohio woman's softball team does, change is good and believe me this board could use some change, like you said OUVan same 5 or so, try something new for a change and try to grow something good. you would be surprised by the interest and new posters it would attract.

I for one and not sure why, but I don't feel appropriate posting about the woman here. to me it feels out of place. Just like the Ohio Basketball recruiting column hardly ever see any thing about woman recruits.


Ohio W Basketball/Recruiting
I can only speak for myself but I see fewer posts about Volleyball since it got its own forum. I just never think about going to that forum. Heck, I don't even go to the football board much. So if women's basketball gets its own forum I will see fewer posts than if it is kept in the Ohio Basketball forum. People that want to talk about it will go there but you will lose all the drive-by traffic. I'm fine with it having it's own board and if anyone feels strongly about it go for it. I just have a feeling it won't be the blessing you think it will be.

While I see your point, what I see happening, though, is the ladies will make it to the NCAA Tournament while the men get knocked out of the MAC Tournament in the first round and people will pay more attention to the men's malady. This might enhance the chance for some good women's team discussion without the threads getting knocked down toward the bottom of the column.
Or you end up with the same five or so posters talking about women's hoops. I think keeping it here will get more of the casual fans paying attention and possibly becoming diehards.

Ohio W Basketball get ignored just like the Ohio woman's softball team does, change is good and believe me this board could use some change, like you said OUVan same 5 or so, try something new for a change and try to grow something good. you would be surprised by the interest and new posters it would attract.

I for one and not sure why, but I don't feel appropriate posting about the woman here. to me it feels out of place. Just like the Ohio Basketball recruiting column hardly ever see any thing about woman recruits.

I can only speak for myself but I see fewer posts about Volleyball since it got its own forum. I just never think about going to that forum. Heck, I don't even go to the football board much. So if women's basketball gets its own forum I will see fewer posts than if it is kept in the Ohio Basketball forum. It looks like the volleyball forum has been there since July of 2010. The greatest number of posts on a single topic was a whopping 36 when Dean got hired. Most have 0 responses. Those who want to look will go there. Drop the Ozone forum and put in women's basketball.

Exactly, and the Women's team this year has more views and post than most all if not all post on the VB board. Why? Because the post are in one of the most active and viewed topics on here. The topic is OHIO Basketball, not OHIO Men's basketball. We've got enough sample on this board to see that threads outside of the Football and Basketball threads are 2nd class citizens.

I say no, because this forum says "Ohio Basketball". There is no reference to the men or the women in it. Also, in my opinion, I would be less likely to see the posts because to be honest, I don't come here and read through each forum regularly. I come and read the basketball and basketball recruiting forums and that's about it. Once in awhile, I go through the other categories. I suspect I'm not unusual in this regard, but perhaps I'm wrong.
