after all they do have a Volleyball one, only fair to add Ohio Woman's Basketball, There are a lot of members here that follow them plus it might add more members.

Fun Fact - Ohio's Caroline Mast 1st player in MAC History Men or Woman to score 2000 points & grab 1000 rebounds, you know who the 2nd person was ? Ron Harper of Fiami

Sure. If it’s too much problem for some reason, relegate another sport to Olympic sports based on interest-number of posts, threads or whatever.

Of course, nothing keeps posters from talking about womens basketball on this heading either. It is Ohio Basketball after all.

I often find the ladies to be much more fundamentally sound and mature at this level than the men, and so I am on board with more coverage of them; of course, I also wonder why Bobcat fans are not as passionate about the Nationally known wrestling program as I am.

This is an Ohio basketball forum. I think it would be sexist to segregate the women's team. If you want to talk more, start a thread.

While I see your point, what I see happening, though, is the ladies will make it to the NCAA Tournament while the men get knocked out of the MAC Tournament in the first round and people will pay more attention to the men's malady. This might enhance the chance for some good women's team discussion without the threads getting knocked down toward the bottom of the column.

It literally is a different team with a different coaching staff with different rules (both on and off the court), different schedule, and the list goes on. Most all DI-FBS athletic programs consider Football, Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball to be their flagship sports so it's kinda weird we don't identify them separately on a message board. Having to clarify "Men's" or "Women's" in a post topic is annoying and cumbersome. Oh, and at this juncture, it's probably offensive to our successful women's basketball program to associate them with our embarrassment of a men's program.

Why would you play the sexist card ? There is an Ohio Baseball column here and NO Ohio Softball so is that sexist ? just sayin

I think the baseball forum could easily be called a Baseball/Softball forum and we'd be no worse for the wear. There isn't that much activity there.

Also, I've stacked the deck so that all the sexist cards get played first.

This is actually the first good argument for its own forum, but I still don't know that it's needed. I haven't seen the women play. However, if there is a Men's thread or Women's thread, I read them all regardless.

Or you end up with the same five or so posters talking about women's hoops. I think keeping it here will get more of the casual fans paying attention and possibly becoming diehards.

Keeping it here ? Ohio W Basketball get ignored just like the Ohio woman's softball team does, change is good and believe me this board could use some change, like you said OUVan same 5 or so, try something new for a change and try to grow something good. you would be surprised by the interest and new posters it would attract.

I for one and not sure why, but I don't feel appropriate posting about the woman here. to me it feels out of place. Just like the Ohio Basketball recruiting column hardly ever see any thing about woman recruits.

Embarrassment is subjective and purely opinion and somewhat based on your emotions. Not a fact bully boy. How did you feel when Sameka was here. Embarrassed? Not enough to banish them from the Men's side for not being good enough while the men were making tourney runs.

I'm kind of surprised by the number of no votes and posts against it. What's another choice of topic areas to go to? If space is an issue, it could easily replace the Ozone which hasn't had a post in 18 months.

A post on the “women’s” forum would get less exposure than the same post about the women here. The forum is OHIO Basketball, that’s encompassing as all things basketball. Giving them a separate forum would decrease their exposure.

Totally agree with you Alan, but you know how some people are, they don't like change, therefore the No votes.

Just look at the view and response totals of our VB thread, it’s even with baseball and has very very few posters, simply gets way less exposure. The women’s team would have 1/2 the views or less right now with their own topic.

I said no simply because you'll maximize the amount of eyeballs on threads and thus amount of people reading about/interested in/potential of becoming bigger fans or supporters if the posts are right here.

I'm not sure what starting a separate forum that only 8 people actually look at or post in accomplishes. At least now those 8 people can post something that gets read by a hundred or more. Isn't that better? If you're sad that the threads get bumped to the bottom, well that's due to less interested individuals. Nothing wrong with that, just the reality of the difference in interest and exposure. Want to keep it in the "top" - keep posting in it. It's really that simple.

I know for a fact I'd never visit a separate women's forum, but do read about them when posted on here.

Same idea as having women's games right before or after the men's games to maximize exposure.

Our women's team is successful this year and our men's team is embarrassing. If you don't like the word embarrass then replace it with another one - no matter how you characterize it, it's no good. Good vs bad. Get it? Semeka's run was embarrassing/awful/no good too.

As usual Mr. Billy Negativity has spoken, Giving them a separate forum would decrease their exposure ? Billy you are so full of shit, ya little crystal ball tell ya that ? It would surprise you on how many people follow Ohio Woman's sports, I've been here many times and have seen many guests logged in, maybe the reason they are guests, is because there isn't a forum for them, you have to cater to ALL people. BA is stagnant and it has been for a while now, same ole same ole day in and day out. Its time for some changes and if it cost any money to change some things, I'd be more than happy to chip in.

Click on the word Basketball BillyBoy on the far left as you log in, what pops up ? All Men's stuff, where's the woman's schedule BillyBoy ? WOW that's some exposure our woman are getting, a team that's 21 & 3

Its this simple, when people Click Ohio Basketball Forum they think Men's Basketball. When someone posts about the woman there, It just looks out of place and like I said before, you would be surprised by the attention it would get and I'd be willing to wager what ever ya like BillyBoy.

Yes, of course Women’s Basketball should have its own section.I have felt that way for many years. It is a separate team from Men’s Basketball, so it would be logical to have its own area on BA.

The only way to find out would be to create a separate forum. How about it moderators?
