Anyone care to speculate what sort of job Phillips may land? Hopefully his family finds a great fit where they are appreciated...perhaps closer to home.
Does anyone see him possibly doing some ESPN 3 broadcasts for mid to low major broadcasts where they need all the commentary help they can get?

Do they move to be closer to family before settling in to a new opportunity?
I was thinking he would be good at that but I don't think that's what he wants to do fulltime. He seems to be more of a people person and broadcasting is not as hands-on as he might like.

I see that UMKC is looking for a new coach. He might land there, either as HC or an assistant.

I do wish them well. The whole family seems to be very special and it's too bad things didn't work out at Ohio.

That was a gracious commentary from a courageous and kind person. I sincerely believe the family enjoyed their time in Athens and at Ohio University. It showed and was genuine. They are the type of people you'd hope to keep knowing, no matter where they land.

Not a knock at all, but I see him as potentially a great fit for D2 or D3 as a head coach. He is a quality coach and role model, and at that level those things are still important just as much (if not more) than winning.

Tons of good D3 hoops programs in/around Wisconsin. UW-Oshkosh just won the national championship.

Agree 100% oldkatz. I wish Saul and his family the best. I also hope his staff lands on their feet soon. They weren't compensated as well as Saul. Sometimes many of us get caught up in the W's and L's. We fail to realize that these coaches and their staff are neighbors to so many in Athens. They attend church and schools with many of our community members. We see them in the grocery store, high school athletic events or tee ball games. It is always difficult when a friend and neighbor loses a job and move out of the area. I'm certain all head coaches realize that it is a business, but it doesn't make it any easier to lose a friend or neighbor.

The Phillips are tremendous people and we were lucky to have them. I'll be rooting for wherever he lands. I don't know if there are any openings but it would be great to see him at one of the UW branch campus teams.

Wishing nothing but the best for the Phillips family. I'm going to miss seeing those kids dancing in the stands in their green and white bib overalls.
