For those of you who think an 18 year old is “not ready”, are they ready to make your coffee, babysit your kids and elderly parents and do just about anything else? Going to med school is a little different than playing in the NBA. We’ve talked about this sham before where everyone is making, not just money, but big money except the players. I would advise Zion to not play and tell Coach K to shove it.

Right on cue. You are too predictable old man. I agree with the let them play sentiment but you can always be counted on to point out how everyone's making money on their backs and they are getting nothing in return. For 95 % of all college athletes on a ride that is just not true.

You’re right. Division 2 and 3 is in line. Not most of Div 1.

You're not wrong, but that takes us to a place you probably don't want to go. If there's a small group of players who are making college sports all the money, I'm gonna argue to let the players who are making all the money make money. Let Zion Williamson have his own shoe endorsement and sell his own gear during college.

He's not paid by boosters. He's paid by the market for what his talent and name are worth. Nothing more American than that.

Just saw a sports "blurb" on this.

According to the "blurb",Duke's coach said Zion will still play for Duke this season and it could be soon.

Because I am old I know what big times coaches used to make. Since I’ve already put out the inflation adjusted numbers in other posts, I won’t repeat myself. I know what is right and what I see in college athletics isn’t right. I couldn’t care less if the whole thing got blown up and started over. Sometime soon it will change. It would happen sooner if Zion opted out right now. Seriously, what loyalty should he or any of the one and dones have to their respective rent a center?

Great article above.
