Interesting that 3 players showed up:
McMurray, Preston and Murrell.
Probably nothing as these kids are students first, athletes second. Assuming they had class obligations, but I would have expected a few more faces. Area for concern or making a mountain out of a mole hill?
The body language of the guys in the lockerroom when Coach Boals was talking to them on the highlight video tells me one of two things. Either OUr guys don't understand that respect is not slouching but it is sitting up and forward (like BVP). Too many of OUr guys are slouching and expressionless. It makes me wonder if there will be more defections than we think or if it's just kids these days. I ultimately want to keep BVP, Carter, Dartis, Cowart, Murrell and Preston. If we can keep that group and add McDay and Roderick I would be happy.
Since Coach Boals had just met with the team prior to the press conference, I wouldn't read much into player attendance at the presser.
I also noticed the slouching, etc, in the locker room. I think it's a cultural thing with that age group today. I agree it's more professional to sit up straight and lean forward in that context. We have some communication majors, I would think they learned non verbal skills there. 😏
