This game is relatively similar to last year's contest against Iona. Came into the game 3-2, almost a year to the day when we played them.

If I could insert a high five meme here, I would. :D

Spread is even. This is very telling. If this game was at Iona we would probably be 6-8 point under dogs.

Does anybody have an opinion on what it will take to restore (or create) the ability to make shots from outside. It appears to almost be a mental thing. No one except for Vander Plas looks like they even expect to make their shot.

Decent half. We're working hard to find the high percentage shot instead chucking, a side from a few Kirk off balance shots. Tighten up the d, don't get sucked in leaving them open on the arc and we'll be fine.

They looked very good tonight. The ball movement is spectacular and they are hitting open looks. Block is doing it all tonight. Ben is balling as well.

Playing at home is almost always a cure for poor shooting!

We have a few guys who clearly aren't ready to compete yet, but one guy who is...BVP.

We probably won't win the MAC this year, but it is promising that our three best (healthy) players are two Sophomores and a Freshman.

Amazing what happens to the offense when a couple shots start falling. They looked in sync tonight. Exactly what they needed heading into the Marshall game. Man I love what BVP is providing off the bench.

Boy, tonight was a breath of fresh air. Looked like a totally different team than the one in Jamaica.

And it sure helps when a few 3s go in.

Keep it going, boys!

Best lineup? Carter, Taylor, BVP, Kirk (playing under control) and ??? Maybe Gollon when he gets back. Not expecting Dartis to see the floor this season.

Why would any defense come out and guard Kirk and Preston? Iona was begging either one to try a shot from around the arc. Kirk does a lot of things to help this team, just needs to know his limitations.

DT is going to help this team even if he doesn't score. But I would love to see him become a threat from 12-15 feet. He missed an open baseline jumper in the first half and made one in the second half.

I will take 3 turnovers or less every game from Kirk. It looks likes Saul had a nice heart to heart with him when they got back to the states.

Thought for the first time this year that the team looked like they were playing good team ball for the whole game. Lots of crisp passes and looking for the open guy. Everyone seemed in sync. Keep it up Bobcats!

We still didn't really shoot particularly well but won by 24. Team defense was excellent in second half and we hit the boards all game. 23 assists on 35 baskets, nice. On Saturday I would like to see the shots at the rim continue while also hitting a decent percentage from outside for a change. BVP was a game changer with his early threes, rebounds and taking charges. More of that please.

This was, in my mind, a look at our "A" game (or darn close to it) tonight. I'd like to hope that we can sustain somewhere close to that level of play, but my brain tells me to not get that optimistic.

Marshall will be a good benchmark game against a quality opponent.

That's the ultimate question ... is what we saw vs Iona closer to reality or what we saw in Jamaica/vs Peay?

I think it's somewhere in the middle. But this is a nice win. We'll see how they follow it up against a good, fast-paced Marshall team

Vander Plas looks like he could become a Kaminski who defends and rebounds. He is a very pleasant surprise.
