as good as tha tteam was playing they fizzled liked a dead firecracker after boals injury. that shouldn,t have happened. a good general has a battle plan to account for something like that. a healthy boals may have got them into the elite 8. had that happened I wonder what offers hunter may have gotten from bigger schools and if he would have stayeded on at ou
It's ironic that it was reported at about that time (don't remember the exact year) that Hunter did have an offer from Kansas State that he turned down, basically because he wanted to stay at his alma mater. He was loyal, but it turned out not to be a two-way street. I still maintain that TB fired Hunter too quickly. Maybe at that stage he should have given him a shorter than usual extension of his contract, but the firing, IMHO, was not warranted at that time. His record was slowly improving from the five-win Wilderness Campaign. His last year he was 19–11, 12–6, 3rd (East). And for SBH, who thinks I evaluate coaches and AD's on how I get along with them personally, Larry and I never saw-eye-to-eye. The last time I remember talking to him, he turned around and walked away because he didn't like what I was saying. It had nothing to do with basketball or athletics, it was about local politics.
