OK there's something here that is a bit perplexing to me. I don't like it, but I get it that someone like Jason Carter would leave because he is going to a university that is in a power conference. However, there seems to be more than a few players that are exploring their options, when unlike Jason they really have no options at this point. Someone earlier commented in another post that some of the players appeared to be slouching and not all that interested during he press conference announcing the hiring of Caoch Boals. I didn't see it so I can honestly say. However, whether you like what you have heard beforehand or not, you better act like you are interested when the new guy in charge shows up. Reminds of the story when Lou Holtz got the job at Notre Dame and he told those slouching players they had two options act and work like you want to be here or leave.
Yet everything we hear points to the fact that Coach Boals knows what he is doing. Perhaps the best confirmation came in the interview with channel 4 in Columbus. The channel 4 interviewer Jerrod Smally (a Marshall grad,) said Coach Boals was his favorite assistant in the Thad Matta era, because of his hard work, honesty and knowledge of the game.
