Dante Maddox enters the portal somehow with eligibility.
I'd still welcome his addition if Javan recruited him back to the MAC.
I would take Maddox in a heartbeat. Would be the perfect AJB replacement.
But for the life of me, I cannot see how he still has eligibility. He’s played a full five years, with 23+ games logged for each of the 4 non-Covid years. No injuries. No redshirts. ???
This one's more straightforward than others I've seen. Four years plus the bonus Covid year, which means this year would be his "grad transfer" year. I'm pretty sure they gave the Covid exemptions in both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons.
I may just be confused by the rules. 20-21 was his Covid year, so it doesn’t count. Then he plays 4 years after that. But does that mean that he can still use a grad transfer year to play a 5th year?
I’m just unsure, in that case, why anyone else in the same boat (say, AJ Clayton), wouldn’t just do the same thing and grad transfer to get a 5th year.
