Maybe BuckCat is upset because the Mueller hearings are turning out to be such a fiasco for the activist types. The narrative that current athletes are standing up to what's wrong and they aren't going to take it anymore really gets old. Some of us were treated like crap by coaches and we vowed never to do unto others what was done to us. We also vowed never to be "a victim" and a whiny activist. We went on with our lives and probably made a fraction of what some athletes could make now. However, it was never about us, the self indulgent nonsense which permeates sports, especially professional sports is turning off a lot of people. In the summer ESPN practically turns into a gossip show with player x saying ....about player y, not to mention people questioning the parenting skills of players, the attire and dating choices of each other. It almost becomes comical.

Someday we will know the truth about what happened at Cleveland State, but to make blanket statements about the courageous players of today is really a bit much.

Living in N.J.,the R.U story got a lot of press,and was quite controversial.

Mike Rice was fired because of a video showing him allegedly abusing players.

As far as I know,none of his players ever had an issue with him.

The video was controversial in that it was only selected excerpts of practices,taken over a period of time,by the disgruntled former(fired) manager of player development (Eric Murdock).

That individual even said that the excerpts were edited together to present the situation in his light.
It came out that the videos did not show the context of how/why the coach said/did certain things the video showed.

Murdock said that Rice's actions caused 3 players to transfer,but that was never confirmed.

Based on their initial review RU came up with disciplinary actions,which the coach did.

They still fired him.

That did not go over well with a lot of R.U's boosters and fans.

Poor doddering Robert Mueller was obviously led around on a leash by the Clinton Campaign lawyers who ran the Special Counsel investigation. Then when the time came for Mueller to make a public appearance and back up what someone wrote in his report, he looked like the wizard after Toto pulled open the curtain in the Wizard of Oz. I can't wait for the Inspector General's report to come out, which will eventually lead to Comey and company in the penitentiary for putting our nation through nearly 3 years of leftist concocted conspiracy theories. Then if you leftists truly cared about these miscreants, you would perform a corporal work of mercy and visit them in the Big House.

As the sage of South Central Larry Elder has said, to the left anyone who is a conservative and a believer in traditional religion is bad, but it really gets bad if you are a minority like him. Then not only aren't you following the leftist group think mantra, but you are actually thinking for yourself which is heresy to the secular left.

As for the players at Cleveland State, we don't know what really happened. A few years ago in Columbus a few malcontent players ran off the coaching staff of the Blue Jackets, because they were too mean. Soon word circulated around the NHL that it was nothing more than a few players with hurt feeling who weren't measuring up. After that, most of the malcontents ended up out of the NHL being bouncers at bars in Winnipeg and Saskatoon. It is wise to know the rest of the story before we deem Coach Felton an awful coach as has been asserted off the record by some players.

Cut the crap. I think I can speak for some of the conservatives on this site. Every time someone from the left injects politics into the discussion and we answer it, we get blamed. It reminds me of watching Big Time wrestling when I was a kid and the bad guy would hide a foreign object in his trunks and the ref would pretend not to know what was happening. That was funny, but this crap here is getting old.

This is the last place I want to talk about politics. However, I am not going to continue to ignore the leftists tropes and victimization nonsense that creeps into here under the guise of fairness and the modern era. In other words players nowadays are so much smarter because they don't take any crap and whine whenever things don't go their way. Therefore, the coach has to be the bad guy without even trying to understand what really happened. I mentioned the Blue Jackets situation in my last post. A classic example of how some under performing players ran out the coaching staff a few years back, and then no other team wanted them because they realized they were a bunch of whiners. However, the players had the media's sympathetic ear until they were left being bouncers in Saskatoon and Winnipeg, all the while the Blue Jackets and their fans were left to suffer for years.

I would suggest that the moderators here jump in as soon as a political comment is made and nip it in the bud. Also, I wonder how many who post here have the slightest comprehension of a team/clubhouse atmosphere i.e ever played or coached on a high school team, let alone a college one. Remember how appalled people were with the language used by Coach Christian against Treg. Then it was later revealed that Treg and others stated that was par for the course with other coaches. I vowed never to be like some of the coaches that coached me in school. However, we all soldiered our way through it and vowed not to be like that, but also not be the victim. Honestly, I heard worse in 8th grade directed at me and other players than was directed at Treg. We don't know what happened at Cleveland State. Maybe Coach Felton is a big jerk, but as of now, no one knows. One thing I do know for sure, if we get any more leftist victim nonsense, you can expect more of the same in these threads. Keep the topic on sports and everyone should be good with that, even if we have a difference of opinion about coaches and players attitudes.

They wrote a report he wasn't familiar with interviewing 500 witnesses, of which he only sat for a handful of interviews. It appears Jordan Mincy, the former Kent State player and Florida Assistant might be the top candidate. Terry Pluto thinks he might soon be offered the job. Mincy has got to be in his early 30s, if offered would be one of the youngest Division I coaches. Very interesting, though the Vikings job has lots of landmines to which one must traverse. Yet, there is potential. We shall see.
