I suggest you go to an alumni association event in NYC, Boston, Pittsburgh or other big city. These people LOVE Ohio but have not connected with the sports programs for a variety for reasons. Alumni have a very strong connection with OU, perhaps more than most public institutions this size. Hell, go to the St. Paddy's Day parade in Cleveland and see how many Ohio sweatshirts/jackets are in the crowd.
I've been to a couple of NYC Alumni Association events.
They were geared more to recent alums, then older alums like me.
The recent alums don't seem to have the same attachment to/love of Bobcat Athletics older alums do.
When O.U. had their "Night of Court Street" at the Waldorf, there were a lot more people who follow sports.
Most of the O.U. alums around north Jersey where I live, bleed green, when it comes to Bobcat sports.
Regardless of sport interest, there does seem to be universal interest in the
110.
In fact a number of alums were hoping for a Varsity Show, the last time the 110 was in the Macy's Parade.
