Behind the scenes memos been circulating in many areas of athletics around the nation.

I work with five corporate clients pretty steadily. I'm doing coronavirus communications for four of them. The two largest ones have suspended all non-critical travel for all employees. Until this is sorted out, many organizations are opting for a cautious approach. Depending on how it progresses, it's easy to see some dramatic changes in the near future, especially for large gatherings of people like sporting events.

The Ivy League cancels its tournament.

That's really unfair to the teams.

If you're that concerned about Coronavirus,play in an empty arena.

But,to deny these kids the opportunity for a chance to play in the NCAA
tournament seems to be an overreaction.

Ridiculous. In the same breath, they say they are cancelling for the safety of all involved...and then announce which teams will be sent to the big tournament. You know, the one with a lot more people, travel, and risk involved than this. If it is safety first, shouldn't they also refuse to send a team to the dance?

According to an epidemiologist who was on the radio this morning,,he expects,worst case, the number of corona cases to double every 6 days, till the end of March,then drop off dramatically.

That includes clusters in areas like Westchester,NY.

In the US that comes out to:

March 10 687 cases (positive test result,symptoms or not)

March 16 1374 cases

March 20 2748 cases

March 26 5496 cases

Of the 687, 679 are classified as "mild condition".

That's not a lot of people.
If you figure a population of 300 million that's 0.000018 % of the population.

Once we ramp up testing, we can see the numbers plateau like they did in China and South Korea. The administration was trying to control the numbers by having the cdc create guidelines to keep people from testing, it seems they have done a 180 and today they met with health insurers that are now encouraging people to get tested. Once we know who is positive, we can then conduct quarantines where needed and then the numbers will begin to plateau. China had 40 new cases yesterday, they are basically out of the woods.

It’s a false flag, let’s ignore it. The cdc just sent out new test and they are beautiful just like the transcript. Who cares if it spreads? I am going to wear gas mask on the senate floor and be a true lackey, oops I got quarantined.

I agree the overreacting and cancellations are bullshit. Btw I read that the MAC'S main strategy in Cleveland is to install extra hand sanitizer stations in Rocket Mortgage at "strategic locations". I think Jerry Ippoloti suggested that.
