For those who recorded this game, go to around the 1:06:45 mark. JP steps out of bounds and is then the first to touch it after he steps out. It’s the exact same spot that they had that call on BRod.

The Illini knocked off Duke tonight 83-69. Can’t hurt our RPI if there is an ncaa tournament.

I so wish the Cats had pulled out that game. The Duke game was in Cameron as well so it appears Illinois is the real deal nationally.

Let's assume for a second OHIO makes the dance. A win against a top ten Illinois could bump them up a seed line or two which really is what the MAC needs. Hard to make a run as 13/14 seed which is where the committee usually dumps the MAC winner. But if you can get to 11/12...Now you have a chance at a deep run.

Nice win for Illini. They were never really threatened. This is not your normal Duke team however. Even though they are all highly ranked recruits they haven't meshed at all. They look like they just met each other yesterday which is unusual for a Coach K team even in these one-and-done times.

On that note, Coach K questions continuing the games during the pandemic. If that doesn't work I'm guessing he'll go with back problems again. This after him stating a couple of months ago that "We need to have the tournament."

Has anything changed over the last few months? How many deaths were there per day when he said that? More or less than 2,000?

You thought the 200K plus that had already died when he made the statement wasn't significant? It's just the recent spike that is alarming?

Nice sanctimony, my man.

Any analysis of the lifecycle of this pandemic shows that cases and deaths were down, and the general sense was that there were opportunities to try and create some new semblance of normal. Deciding to try and play basketball doesn't mean the 200,000 people that died weren't significant. It was an indicator that people were feeling confident that with the right safety precautions in place, NCAA basketball could move forward in limited ways.

Things are different now. It's no unreasonable for Coach K to point out the differences.

The last two days have both exceeded the deaths on 9/11. Every day next week will be one of the 12 deadliest days in American history.

I know who of Coach K and Nate Whatever is going to end up looking right in the end here.
