I don't know if you guys have been over to the Virginia board or not but this may be the first time in history we've played a P6 school that their fanbase didn't just completely dismiss us out of hand.
Spoke too soon. It's game day and the Grey Poupon, Ohio is not worthy to lick our boots guys have shown up.

Eh. Gameday is for bravado. They’ve been pretty respectful.

Agreed. Their boards are much more civil than other boards I have read over the years.

Couple of interesting posts on UVA board, one claiming without evidence that 2 players didn't make trip and another that said UVA players had to do a covid test last night (this morning) at 1:15am.

Isn't that part of the test protocol? 2 tests 12 hours apart? Depending on what time they landed and got in that might make some make sense.

That is an exceptional look in at how Coaches are able to use software from Hudl, Synergy and others to break down an opponent. Going through that clip by clip and putting it into a form like this that a player can study and memorize is exceptionally helpful...especially with such short turn around.

It is amazing to see this out there for fan consumption. I wonder if that is available for all their games? How astute does a fan base have to be to consume and understand this level of information? That is amazing that someone has the time and ability to put this together for a pregame look at the opposition. Wow!

Thanks for that link. Pack line and Mover Blocker analysis is excellent. Their fans are fortunate to have such good info available from folks who take time to educate.

Groce, Miller, Matta and most of Herb Sendek's tree
( https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1676777-the-5-most-im... ) ...a lot of them use Pack Line variants but Dick and Tony Bennett really have made that defense their signature. Watching help principles and how they treat screens and switches is a thing of beauty. Will be interesting to see how they handle Ohio's screen rolls.

Coaching trees are pretty interesting in themselves. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/news/story?i... truly a fraternity

I cannot comprehend how the takeaway is to criticize Preston.

Need to continue to attack Huff, get that is tough. Isolation with BVP has led to better shots. It is simple, keep moving the ball, try to knock down those open looks. Would also like to see a little more action towards the basket. Even game, hit shots in the second half, you win.

Playing against their D is like a bad dentist appointment. Still, Ohio is getting good looks. Just gotta finish.

Love the way BVP is attacking Hauser. I would like to see Boals try and get some post ups for Preston on their little guy.

I counted three easy foul calls against UVA that were missed. An illegal screen at the foul line, a big reach across Sears I think, and another.

They have been consistent in letting both teams play.

You turn the ball over as much as they have to start the half, you dont have a chance. Just a disgusting first 4 minutes.

Preston just a complete no-show. Way too timid and not making much effort to get the ball on the offense.

Give UVA credit, they double him off all ball screens. They have limited his looks.
