Up 12 at the half with a rock solid WVU team. The Johnson-Hooks-Burris trio is ballin.

WVU ends up winning, 88-79. Got out in transition and ran us to death in the second half. We couldn't sub enough minutes to keep people fresh. Beck would have helped us today. Overall, though, good effort by the women.

According to the Central Michigan Twitter account, ESPN is having technical difficulties so the game is not being shown on ESPN3/ESPN+ as scheduled, but the broadcast may start at some point if/when it is resolved.

Indeed. These things happen way too often.

As for the game, an outstanding second quarter for the Bobcats against the MAC favorites from the sounds of it. Ohio up by 8.

Ohio falls to MAC favorite Central Michigan 90-87. Chippewas had a huge 3rd quarter. Bobcats evened it up early in the 4th and then it was back and forth. Reigning MAC Player of the Year Micaela Kelly hit a go-ahead 3 with 37 seconds left. Gave up a key offensive rebound after a missed free throw, but down four got a bucket and a steal to have a chance. Burris missed the first of 2 free throws (she's 17 of 19 this year) with 7 seconds left to leave Bobcats down 1. After two more free throws, Ohio missed a half-court try at the buzzer.

A lot of good, though, especially on offense. Bobcats had good balance with help for Johnson (21 points) and Hooks (22 points). Burris had 12, Mace 11, Guice 10, Bambule 8. Kroll had an off game, though. Central Michigan knocked down 15 3-pointers. Kelly scored 28, Molly Davis 23 and Maddy Watters 17.

Bobcats are 3-3, 1-2 in the MAC. Central Michigan is 5-2, 3-0. Ohio is at Miami on Wednesday.

The ESPN broadcast with Marty and Jackie picked up at halftime.

Frustrating to see this end in a loss after a lot of good things happening in the game.

Jacki does a great job and is also one of the better officials in OHIO.

Hey we beat Miami 72-63. Cece led the way with her usual heavy dose of drives to the hoop leading to lots of 2's and free throws. It was similar to the Men's game this week, where we win but didn't exactly overwhelm arguably the worst team in the conference. Namely because the ladies shot 3 for 18 from 3 and were outrebounded by 11. Erika was 0 for 7 from 3 and is down to 33% on the year after finishing last year at 41%.

Deesh remains MIA. Does anyone know if she has been on the bench? I have not been able to tell in the moments I've been able to catch.

This does appear to be the case.

That is interesting. I can't imagine a late December decision to transfer didn't come from some type of drama. That's a bummer, she is the type of player I feel like the current roster needs to be a little more well rounded.

It’s rather hard to believe you can lose a game when the other team has 30 turnovers. Ouch
Well maybe they won’t , some clutch shooting there!

That game was that bad.

I don't understand the strategy of fouling in a one possession game when there's a chunk of difference between game and shot clock. It's how Cece got her fifth foul, and it happened again in the final minute of overtime. They put Ball State on the line when they didn't need to.

thirty-FIVE turnovers.

Didn't help that we had 22. 57 game turnovers is just bad basketball. Ball's Brown had a heel of a game, 21 and 19.

Kroll is finding her touch from deep, went 6 for 10.

Loss this game underneath. No presence on defensive boards, Ball State owned offensive boards and putbacks. Loss of Beck showed tonight. No bodies underneath.

Both teams showed a lack of mental focus. Dozens of mental errors.

Stop all this technical analysis. My wife informed me after the game that the loss was totally my fault. She said without Thelma Dís Ágústsdóttir‘s 13 points, OHIO would have won. And since I’m
half Icelandic and Ms. Ágústsdóttir is Icelandic that I’m culpable for this loss. Who dare argue with that logic?

I honestly thought we could go the entire MAC season and only suffer 3 losses. Here we sit in mid-January at 3-3. With the talent and experience on this roster, we can't deny what a letdown it has been.

Erica is taking 10 threes per game and only making 3. That's not good, and significantly worse than last year. Cece is scoring more only as a result of more shots, she is up to 20 per game now. Cece has more turnovers than assists. In fact the team as a whole has more turnovers than assists.

I hate to pick on our 2 playmakers, but I think we need more ball movement. From the games I've seen, Erica hoists from deep pretty early a lot, and Cece sometimes drives when there is no realistic path to the hoop. They both have the ability to still convert in those situations, but I think they can pick their spots a little better. Our defense looks bad statistically but I think a lot of it s a product of turnovers and early shot clock shots on the offensive side.

Is Brown from Chillicothe? She is a rebounding machine!

^Simply this but on a lot of levels. Watching the effort around the boards was frustrating at times. Then there was a stretch in the first half where the Bobcats turned the ball over like 5 times in 6 possessions and it felt to me like they were going to lose most of the rest of the way.

Yep, Chilli. Averaged a double-double her senior HS year. Balls has 2 Chilli players on their roster. Pipeline?

Skeens is from Southeastern H.S., Osh is from Chillicothe. Of the 2, I'd like to see Brown in the Green and White.
