Based on this and Twitter there are some mixed reactions about him leaving. I wouldn't be shocked if he just stopped playing.

I have to believe that if he loved Athens enough and though enough of Jeff Boals to think of coming back that he never would have left when we let Saul go in the first place. Guys like Preston and BVP probably feel like he let them down.

But it does bring up an interesting thought. I have heard guys in their fifth year of eligibility don't count against your scholarship total. But it seems to me that once you transfer then your scholarship would have to count no matter what. Otherwise, someone could literally have a team with as many guys as they want buy collecting guys like Carter who are trying to transfer to play a fifth year somewhere after their Senior year of eligibility.

Stop trying to create drama when there isn’t any. Jason is a great guy and he obviously still keeps in contact with at least one player considering he was sitting in the parents section at the Creighton game.

First off there are only three players in that locker room that ever played with Jason. Only fans (and possibly some coaches) get butthurt when a player leaves. There may be disappointment but the kids get past that real quick. My son has played for the same AAU team since 3rd grade with a steady group of kids. He's a Junior in HS now and over the years kids have left for various reasons. Of the ones that left, if he was friends with them when they were on the team he is still friends with them today. And he would be happy to play with them again. I don't pretend to know what Jason Carter's relationship is with anybody on the team but the fact that he was sitting in the Ohio section is pretty telling.

I know we all like to read into things and create drama and conspiracy theories where there aren't any - but is it possible that Jason just came to the game to support the Bobcats because

a) Indy is a really short drive from Cincy
b) He's still friends with some of the players
c) He was very familiar with Creighton since he played in the Big East against them this year - and either gave them some tips, or was simply just curious to see how OU fared?

I mean Joe Burrow was at the game wearing green and cheering for the Bobcats too. Are we now speculating he's our QB in the spring? :).

1) He's a big that shoots 37.7% from the field.
2) He makes all of 18% of his 3's (Took 44)
3) He shoots 55% from the line

Remind me again how this would make us better?

His decision was up there with Jaaron's. Not even close to that Hall of Fame decision maker, but to flip on a guy like Jeff Boals without even giving it a year -> Bye, Felicia.

Has anyone ever in the history of NCAA sports transferred away from a school, played for a different school, then transferred back to that school to play for them again? Come on, this is silly speculation.

I don’t think anyone really believes or is sold on Carter coming back. But for fans to make false accusations that players hate him because he left, is childish. That’s where I’m coming from.

Or that Thad Motta is joining our coaching staff because he was at Monday's game wearing an Ohio Impact shirt?

In today's basketball, people transfer all the time for all kinds of reasons. Why should that make Jason a villain or bad guy because he did? I'm not seeing that. Do you suppose that Dwight Wilson III's former James Madison teammates hate him now for transferring to Ohio? Seriously doubt it.

I'm all for bringing any player in who can help the team but I agree. I don't see anything in these numbers that says this is who we need.
