Why would any student be banned from Ping? That makes no sense.
Not a student - so zero insider information on this - pure speculation (feel free to tell me I'm wrong). But, from my experience with other university athletic and rec centers.
They generally ban athletes from the rec centers (unless they reserve it and get it approved ahead of time) - because the demand from athletes is so high that if they DIDN'T - the rest of the student population would never get access to use the facilities that technically their fees paid for.
It's almost like athletes could/would make use of a dedicated facility 24/7/365 just for them!
If we don’t have an in season training table currently, that would surprise me.
Also, no D1 athletic team worth anything has "a training table" - they have a training ROOM/COMPLEX. With multiple tables and access. Shoot, most good HS teams have more than "a training table" these days. Multiple available trainers and doctors for taping, stretching, rehab etc. Access to nutritionists and hydration stations. Access to heat and cold therapies for both healing and rejuvenation. The difference between being #1 in the country and #100 is tenths of a percent. Nutrition, healing, hydration, psychology and overall health can add up to those tenths that make all the difference at the tip of the spear.
