A pattern of people who didn't play much this year and probably wouldn't next year either?

I don't either, Foster must see Granger getting in front of him in line. It makes me wonder if a big man transfer has also visited...or close to committing.

If it's something other than playing time, fine. But you can't tell me Colin Granger is that far out ahead. Nolan has a decent chance at being a two year starter if he competes for it.

I don't expect that one. He got time as a freshman and showed signs. Offseason workouts will help him. Plus doesn't he still have 4-years remaining given the Covid rules? He comes off the bench next year and still has 3 years after.

I hope things go well for Nolan. A really good young man from a nice family. I think he's got the ability to be a solid player at a mid major program. As others have noticed, injuries have held him back here.

I am thinking it is playing time, but I am also looking at the Portal thinking of other possibilities.

Perhaps. Or maybe Boals is clearing the deck in the front court.

Maybe the grass is greener elsewhere, let’s hope we get some great ones.

How many times did OHIO go to the bench for a big after The New Year, and it wasn’t Foster. No shame, he’s worked hard, he wants to play.

It is beginning to look like Jeff Boals and his staff have an opportunity to recruit our way to an even higher level. The options now expand to allow us to get an immediate contributor (it will be hard to beat the Wilson III find) and attract a freshman star ( again going to be hard to beat the Sears find). If they replicate last year’s performance, we could have a dynasty in the making.

Would like another big (athletic or just a big dude), an athletic wing, and a high school guard. Des Watson already signed at Davidson (so he is out), so maybe take a chance on another Central Ohio guard in Tasos Cook out of Westerville Central.

I was getting the impression we were going to end up using this year as a redshirt year since he was injured and/or didn't see much court time. FWIW, I thought Foster played way better his Freshman season than Granger did, but then again maybe practices this year told a different story.

It’s late in the season, going to be hard to find a quality high school kid late that hasn’t been signed yet.

I fully expect Boals & Co to land a big time graduate transfer in the coming weeks. Someone similar to DW to solidify the front court and round out the roster for the MAC favorites. With the madness going on this year with the extra year of eligibility...he will be able to sell this team to a big time option.

If I'm wrong that's OK.

He has 3 spots. I say a 4/5 in the mold of DW3 would be great. Dwight came to us a 9.5 and 9.5 guy and was a 15 and 8 guy who shot 70 percent. Then get us a stretch 4 grad guy in the mold of BVP. Hope Towns matures, let Clayton redshirt and watch Granger take the next step. Then the 3rd scholly can be anything. All I know is every big in the portal can see DW3 videos and his development and JAY PRESTON distributing!!

Many fans never knew what Nolan's health status was this year and if when he was dressed, was he actually available to play. If he was available and you saw guys as raw as Granger and Rifen playing in front of you, then the writing may have been on the wall for Nolan in regards to the confidence level the staff had in him because quite frankly, the options after DWIII were sparse. If JB has some big's options brewing, then no worries. If he doesn't, then having kept Nolan would've been a nice back up plan. I suspect (and hope) JB has a plan that doesn't include the two bigs that just departed and they were aware.

With Foster leaving (didn't expect that but not shocking) I fully expect us to add a grad-transfer big this offseason.
