BG situation getting juicy (From the BG board):
__________________________________________________________________________

What I got from Mr. Reece (dismissed player's father) is that he agrees with us all that Huger cannot coach/draw up anything in any situations.
Had a conversation they had with Moosebrugger left them thinking he's a joke.
Mr. Reece told me his son had several offers this offseason and he chose BG largely because he was aware of the tournament drought and wanted to end it.
He feels, and says that the other guys on the team as well, that Joe & Myron are being scape-goated in an effort by Huger to save his job/save face even though he is a defeated coach.
Also points out (correctly) that as rough as the year has been we're still in contention to earn a MAC tournament berth with a big game coming up Saturday and just jettisoned 2 key rotation pieces. Feels like if they end up losing Huger will use the fact that he had to jettison 2 guys late in the year as an excuse why they couldn't make the tournament.

Below is a direct paste of his comments to me...I cannot paraphrase this...again, it's all posted with his permission since he cannot get approved to use his own voice on here:
James Reece (Joe's Dad) wrote:
And let them know that the reason “straight from the coaches mouth,” was he didn’t like their attitude… mind you.. Joe was never late for practice, never any altercations on or off the court! 3. Something GPA never cursed out a coach .. but his body language was poor and his “energy” .. I’m still like HUH !! I guess I didn’t know that you were supposed to be a I guess happy when you are losing games… especially the ones that you know you could have won!

Dismissed player's father? One question, what high school basketball team did you play for?

This team is really lackluster right now. At what point does the responsibility fall on Boals to get this team out of its slump?

Talk about floundering when you should be peaking. We're not going to beat many teams shooting 30 percent. I think blame is both on Boals and the guys. Some guys seeing the floor shouldn't be. I won't name names but it seems clear to me. Win of lose tonight it's been ugly in recent weeks, even with some of the W's.

Take away Vander Plas and we're 16 percent over all and 12 percent on 3's.

Down 9 with 11 minutes to go...my prediction is that BVP is about to take over this game, or at least try to. Whether we win or lose will be on BVP's leadership from here on out. He seems the hungriest.

And with not much competition for that title.

Stick a fork in em.

Told you BG wasn't a gimme.

We might lose at NIU as well.

We are playing for the coveted fifth seed!

Is it time for football? Been planning to make more time for daily weeping/crying.

Someone explain to me how JC and Sears are now inept? How has Miles never evolved? Why is Rod so dang bad? I seriously wons4r why Ezuma is not getting 15 mins per game. Why is Adelodun not getting run? Boals is too loyal.

IJ needs more minutes. Just as a presence in the paint. Carter seems gassed for the season.

Carter has been a victim of 50/50 calls his whole career, including his clean block of Plowden a second earlier, but that is the worst time to pop off.

Terrible call but down only 3 in that situation, popping off could end up being a killer.

Pretty obvious, but lack of a consistent SG/SF is really starting to show. I just hope we don't get blown out in the MAC tourney.

I would say this is rock bottom but we still have to play at NIU.

This is becoming the opposite of last season, when a struggling team got hot when it mattered most.

This group fell apart.

I would blame Boals but what else can he do? This is peaked a long time ago and continues to get even more worn down.

Roderick's disaster of a season
Loss of McDay
No DW3
Terrible shooting (even on wide open shots)
Opposing teams figuring out Sears...

The list goes on. Just be thankful we have 23 wins.

Not sure how this team fixes the shooting. They have two shooting threats and teams can target them easily. Kind of feels like they are in very big trouble in Cleveland.

Yup. This team plays very lackadaisical at times, which makes a big hole that they can't come out of.
