How do the Bobcats avoid a slow start? Need to figure this out. Can’t rely on 2nd half comebacks every game….

This one's important because

a) It's Fiami
b) We're tied with Toledo
c) It's Fiami
d) It's a home conference game
e) It's Fiami

I want to, and we SHOULD come away with a win - but realistically - with no at-large bids on the line, and being 2 games up on the 3 seed - what's most important is getting BVP and Carter healthy for Cleveland.

Worst case if that means they both have to rest and it results in a loss, so be it. I take that chance.

Best case is they're both good to go and we crush Fiami.

ESPN gives Ohio about a 91% chance to win. How big of a favorite we can be considered depends on if BVP can go and how close to 100% he is.

Will be there leading the student section! Wanted to get a green bandana to wear during the game but forgot to get one today. Might borrow one from a friend.

I can't make it because of kid's games, but I do believe that the 2nd half of the Eastern game was so important, not only physically but mentally. It hopefully got into our basketball and muscle memory. We have the tools, we just need to keep them healthy. The Eastern game let everyone know that we have another gear, we just need to use it!

BVP was in a walking boot at the women’s game tonight.

Tommy Threeman! Hope I get the opportunity to storm the court sometime.

Just watching that again, I'm ready to storm the court and head to Court Street for the post-game celebration.

So what’s the lineup if BVP is out? Izuma gets the start?

Of course, I'll always be ready to storm up Court Street for a celebration. I remember well some of my favorite reasons to celebrate. 1. It's Thursday! 2. It's Friday! 3. It's Saturday! 4. It's not the weekend, but I don't have anything I need to study tonight! 5. I should be studying tonight, but I'm not going to do it! 6. It's great weather to take a walk to Court Street! 7. It's too crummy outside to do anything except hang out at the bars! 8. Everybody is going to be out on Court Street tonight. It's gonna be rockin. We can't miss it! 9. Don't you love it when the bars on Court Street aren't too crowded? We can't miss it!

I'd honestly like to see more Sam Towns at the 4 instead of the 3, but maybe that's just me.

My guess is Clayton if BVP can't go.

Not sure beating Miami tonight is a reason to storm the court.

I was at the matchup in Oxford. Miami was without James Beck and the 6'11'' Jackson Ames. I think Beck is available now, but not a main guy. The Redhawks had no inside game whatsoever, so in addition to BVP raining threes, you saw Carter with some and-1s and even Clayton tried to do some head hunting. We were without Olumide and IJ. I'm not expecting BVP to play tonight, so this is kind of a different matchup for both teams.

Is Dalonte Brown the greatest opposing player that has never had a great game against us? He's a thousand point scorer and Miami fans love him, but I can't remember a single time he has ever put much pressure on us.

I'm optimistic this will be the best weekday turnout of the season. Not only for the rivalry, but it's sort of an interim week for high school ball between regular season and the beginning of tournament play.

With BVP out and Carter questionable (?) this is the Mark Sears show. This is the game that can put him back up there with Rollins in the POY race.

Must, must, must, have a good game tonight. More importantly, he must make good decisions with the basketball.

If both those guys are out, it’s going to take a lot more than a good game out of Sears. Miami is playing maybe their best all season right now, with most of their injured players back I think. We’re going to need several players to really step up with career games,

Agreed, but without a good performance from Sears I don't think the role players will be able to provide enough to make up for it.

We're at the point in the season where we are going to need some role guys to shut us up and ball out.

I preface this with the fact that I truly realize JC and BVP are keys to us winning and are amazing players...
But....
Sometimes, when you see ballstoppers out for a team, you get better ball movement and you get guys who step up naturally because they finally have the ball in their hands. You saw it from Miles on Saturday. You can see IJ getting comfortable. Olumide looks better and better.
Once again, in the long run, WE NEED BVP and JC, but for this game, I don't mind seeing how OUr guys do without the two Super Duper Seniors crabdribbling for 10 seconds a pop. I am more optimistic than some for tonight if Boals gives the BVP and JC keys to IJ, AJ, Tommy and Olumide for a bit.

I believe this is the second time this week that I've read this on BA and I'm not sure what this is based on. Miami had a nice game last Saturday, beating an average-at-best BG team, which came after a win v. WMU, which was winless in the MAC at the time. Prior to those two games? Miami had lost 5 straight. They have Delonte Brown back, one of their best players, and Beck has returned, giving them a big off the bench. Not sure 2 straight wins v. questionable opponents means the Redhawks are playing their best basketball of the season. Not after starting the year with 5 straight wins including one v. Ga Tech of the ACC.

I've always thought Brown should have hurt us more than he has. Seems like a difficult matchup guy. I noticed tracking box scores lately that he hadn't played for a while. I think their last game may have been his first game back in several games. I assume due to injury, but I don't know that for certain.

Let's get healthy but it never gets old beating Miami. Too many memories of this rivalry, good and bad. For me, it's Devin Davis.

Looked him up, Director of Player Development for the Dayton Flyers. And according to his bio, he finished 3rd all time in points and rebounds during his time in Oxford.

Vegas says we are an 11 point favorite. That isn't too different from what you would have expected if we knew everyone was available.
