Thanks for the additional info on Massey's site, Victory...

Actually as much as I dislike Marshall, I want to see them get their numbers up. The only thing that worries me is that their crowd will show up to our place negating some of the home court advantage. Similar to what we did to Cleveland State earlier this year.

They will meet Dayton in the championship game. (Dayton upset Kansas)
Belmont is -4. Dayton is tough to get a read on after some ugly home loses to open the season.

Dayton has 12 freshman, 2 sophomores a Junior and a senior on their roster. One of the sophomores is a transfer in this year as well. The lone senior doesn’t play much. I’ve watched a few of their games. Holmes (C) and Smith (PG) seem like they’ll be a solid duo for a while. While they should never lose to Lowell from UMass, I can understand some inconsistency for them. They’re talented but (obviously) inexperienced.

Dayton’s up 5 on Belmont at the half.

It's going to be interesting to see how things shake out tonight. We get LSU. Marshall @ Akron. Miami gets UC.

Sounded like a great crowd in Millet Hall tonight and Miami had 2 shots in final seconds that didn't fall in a 1-pt loss to UC.

. . . now Akron going down to the wire v. Marshall in the JAR.

Started out looking like a typical Nov/Dec night for MAC basketball with several games going down to the wire but results not being kind for MAC teams. While Miami did lose by a point to UC, the MAC did get nice wins from UA v. Marshall and BG at Duquesne.

I don't know that Miami has had a crowd like this since the Wally days.

CSU hasn't lost since we played them. That'll be a much more impressive statement if it's still true after their next game or two (@OK State and @Duke)

Oakland missed an unchallenged bunny at the rim that would have won the game at the buzzer.

I'm just waiting for GreenCat to get here and crap all over the Belmont win and explain why they're actually the 257th best team in the country and also the spawn of satan.

How BG, up 1, gave up a layup on an out-of-bounds play with 0.9 seconds left is beyond me. How the Oakland player missed his bunny is beyond me. And UT survived by 2 as the Bradley player got a fairly decent look from 3 that rimmed out.

Edit: and EMU survives a last-second look from 3 to beat Niagara by 2.

And UB, w/o its best player, J. Williams, wins at WKU. The Hilltoppers play a 7-foot-5 center.

Terry Pluto writes this same story every year. He's got a whole portfolio of feel-good stories he refreshes in order to fill space...or attract clicks. He was in attendance for the CSU-Ohio game but chose not to write about it because it would have required some reporting.

EMU beats FIU in 4 OT’s. That’s a solid win. With the way a lot of these rankings algorithms are designed, a lot of weight is placed on the middle of the pack MAC teams. Root hard for Ball State, EMU, Miami and BG!

Toledo about to tip with Richmond which should be a good game!

Full house in the Convo in Ypsilanti. Yes, the EMU Convocation Center, usually full of empty seats, was packed as the Eagles honored one of the NBA's greatest 75, George "Iceman" Gervin. The Convo, from today on, will now be the George Gervin Arena.

I didn't believe you, not because I don't trust you, but because I don't trust that EMU actually has more than 100 fans. Checking the box score, attendance was 3,991 which for EMU is impressive. Additionally, the press release about renaming the arena sounds impressive! The official name is now the GEORGE GERVIN GAMEABOVE CENTER and it sounds like GameAbove (whoever that is) paid some sponsorship $$$ to make some improvements.

I really wish Ohio could do this with the Convo. Just a couple million to improve the concourse/technology/restrooms would go such a long way...

LSU wins again... That's a Top 10 team IMO.

Kentucky has lost both games that they have played a top 50 team. Ohio at 100 was the only other one that was not 285th or above with most of the rest in the 300 plus range. Against cupcakes while the rest of the SEC is at least playing some competition. Not surprised they lost to ND.

Notre Dame inducted LaPhonso Ellis into its Ring of Honor at halftime yesterday. The Irish were 9-0 in previous games when a former player/coach was inducted in the RoH.
