Looks like our buddies over in Oxford are for real, too.
Shouldn’t this be in the women’s thread?

No, no. I wouldn’t bet on that. I know I’ve experienced similar confusion when looking at ESPN’s bottom line for instance. Unless they’ve improved recently, and I missed that they have, they typically don’t do a very good job of distinguishing men’s games results from women’s.

And the part about Miami being for real still holds true... They are 3-0 now with wins over Georgia Tech, Lamar (blowout) and Stetson.

There's a good chance they'll be 6-0 when they meet UC on 12/1.

There's a good chance they'll be 6-0 when they meet UC on 12/1.
And then they'll play what amounts to a road game against UC in their own arena. That could be something to see.

Saginaw State over WMU 80-63 - the Broncos are a special kind of bad
Sag State didn’t smoke them as much as WMU gave them the game.

EMU loses a heartbreaker at Northern Kentucky 74-73 - frantic basket-trading in the last minute. EMU opened the door with a bad Turnover on an in bounds play. They missed a potential game-winning mid range jumper at the buzzer. EMU should have won

Campbell over the Herd in Huntington by a point (ouch) - Campbell led throughout. Herd took the lead late, but lost it late. Herd Lost the ball under their own basket (with a chance to win) on a out of bounds call that required video review. Ouch, indeed.

Furman took Belmont to overtime in Nashville. Tremendously exciting game. Bruins win it 95-89.
Is it true that Belmont shot 18 free throws and Furman shot 6, all by one guy?

Asking for a friend who is a hoops fanatic and thinks it sounds odd.

That is correct. All 18 fouls resulted in FT, too. Belmont had 11 total called.

Yikes to BOTH.

Also UK tops Albany tonight 86-61.

Gonzaga currently up 71-39 on CMU with over 15 minutes left. Doesn't look like the Chips are gonna cover the spread boys.

Kind of surprised LSU is not ranked. If they take care of Penn St Friday I have to imagine they'll crack the top 25 Monday.

They had some votes in the AP Poll. With that Belmont win, I agree that they'll be ranked assuming they beat Penn State (which I expect they will)

The MAC is in two tournament championship games tonight. Both tip at 8.

Toledo is set to play Coastal Carolina in the Nassau Championship after wins over Charlotte and Tulane.

Kent is set to play ETSU in the Naples Invitational Championship. Kent had wins over James Madison and George Washington while ETSU had wins over Murray State and Missouri State to make the finals.

This is encouraging for the MAC.

Like last season, the bottom four teams are killing the MAC. I'm surpriseD. I thought there would be improvement.

It looks worse than last year.

I have written many times over the years that if bubble caliber teams play on the road against teams ranked between 100-150 that there is still a close to 50/50 chance of losing. The committee doesn't give much credit for winning games like that so these are the sorts of games you want to avoid if you are looking for an at-large bid no matter who you are. The MAC schedules have always been full of games like that. Even Buffalo a few years ago, who was possibly a top 15 team, lost several road conference games. We all knew they would. Unless you are one of the true national title contenders, if you play close to a dozen games like that then losses will probably happen.

The MAC hasn't been a two bad league in about two decades but it could still rank with the better mid-major leagues because it often only had about 1 200+ ranked team that was a very likely win for the top teams. Last year there were four (the directionals). This year there might turn out to be six. WKU still wants to join the MAC apparently. If we can't do better than that then why would they want to?

However, This is might be a rare chance though to Ohio, Buffalo, Toledo, and maybe Miami to rack up a large win total for a change.
