Belmont has a big matchup tonight as they host 2-0 Furman who is coming off a win at Louisville. Furman received some Top 25 votes this week.

Kentucky hosts Mount St Mary's, who we play next Monday. Robert Morris, Ohio, Kentucky and MSM appear to be an unofficial OOC tournament as we all play each other.

Finally, LSU who we play in a couple weeks is hosting a solid Liberty squad.

In the MAC, Buffalo has a big road game at North Texas. That would be a good win for Buffalo. BG is @ OSU and CMU plays EIU.

If their first 2 games are any indication, OSU is not the team to count on pounding them. I really wish we had a crack at them this year.

Furman took Belmont to overtime in Nashville. Tremendously exciting game. Bruins win it 95-89.

Central just gave up a three pointer to lose the lead with two seconds left at Eastern Illinois (strong high school arena vibe). Baseball pass ends up in their hands for a buzzer beater layup and Central gets their first win.

I was just curious. Of all other MAC schools, I root for them the most. My reason is simply that I have over a dozen family members/good friends that ended up attending BG, and I've never perceived a rivalry there. Plus, they aren't Akron, Kent, UB, or Miami. 😉

I'll root for all MAC teams, football or basketball, out of conference. Even Miami. Even Marshall when the Herd was in the conference. Can't root for Marshall now that they are out of the conference.

Something strange in that one. Plowden, who I would call their best player, played 16min, with 0 points.

I can't ever recall a time I rooted for Marshall - even when they were in the MAC.

Interesting . . . when did they attend Marshall?

For the record, I root for all MAC teams against non-conference teams, unless they are playing Marshall in football. And, I root for Marshall against any team, except Ohio.

It’s an MTE called the Kentucky Classic. Similar to the one at Illinois last year just at campus sites vs a central location.

Same here. I always pull for MAC schools too. When MAC teams win or lose, it all has some form of an impact, no matter how big or small, on all the members in some way.m, shape or form. I feel like that’s one of the things the MAC and a few other G5/mid-major conferences struggles with the most, the overall lack of support. It’s obviously not a P5 conference, but I feel there isn’t a whole lot of pride by fans and alums for the conference, and there’s a lot to be proud of when you really examine it. I love the MAC and have always been a huge supporter of it. As for BG, I’ve always liked to see them do well too. I have a lot of friends and some family members who went there and they’ve been supportive and complimentary of Ohio right back. In fact, much more than friends and family I know that went to Kent State, Akron and obviously Miami.

Stetson has been no pushover for Miami. Not a gimme for us on the road.

Oakland's now piling on Toledo.

Miami is the biggest surprise in the MAC so far.

Last I saw, Toledo was tight with Oakland early in the 2nd. What the heck happened to turn that into a blowout?
