Chips up on Rockets @ half, 32-30. Zone seems to be bothering UT and they aren't hitting shots over it. Calls not going Chips way but they are dominating boards. Go Chips.

Rockets are settling for the 3 pointers against the zone, and if they don't start knocking them down (3/15 in the first half) they're going to be in some trouble.

CMU fought and clawed but that late game in bound was a head scratcher. And the last shot was...a choice.

Despite what some others on BA think, there's talent on that CMU team. Henderson was a beast today and freshman Miller did an outstanding job getting him the ball.

Buffalo goes down 10, takes Segu out and comes back to take the lead. Unreal.

Three teams the MAC and The Gund/Q/Rocket Mortgage would like to see in Friday's semis in terms of bringing a large following are Ohio, Akron and Kent. The fourth would be who? UT? UB?

Going into the final quarterfinal matchup we have UT, Akron and Kent moving on. Can the Bobcats do their part?

Having an all-Ohio lineup with this Toledo team being as good as it is? This is the best one we've seen in a while.

1-2-3-4 with Ohio, Kent, Toledo, and Akron fanbases in the building on a Friday night. Semifinals are gonna be litty.

I'm for anyone but Toledo at this point to keep their streak of not winning the conference tournament alive.

Not sure if UT brings a better crowd to Cleveland than UB.

UA/KSU/Ohio definitely top 3.

We could be in line for a truly large crowd Friday night--except for the snow forecast.

A year that supposedly is a down year for the MAC overall is giving us one of the best Friday night final fours in many years. Both in terms of the participating teams and the individual players.

It's my hope that Bruce Pearl sends the bag man to Akron and brings him to Auburn.

I think differently. I want Freeman to play 2 more years in the MAC. I want Miller and Sparks to remain at CMU and Ball St. I'm a Bobcat fan first, but a MAC fan a close second.

It was tongue in cheek in my part....I hear ya. We need the MAC as a whole to improve with power rating and the only way to do that is to keep the best players in the MAC so these teams have a better chance at winning quality non-con games.

Didn't he go after DJ after seeing him up-close in Providence at the NCAA tourney?

MAC was down this year because there was no middle tier and the expanded bottom tier was awful (6-12). The top 5 were always really good and completely separated themselves from the rest of the league. Because of that I'm not shocked it's chalk to the semis - and all the remaining teams have a legit shot.

I think that was Scott Drew and Baylor.

Doesn't this feel like the exact same story every year? You can pencil in some combo of Ohio, Akron, Kent, Buffalo, Toledo or Miami (in their good years) and then the rest is a roulette wheel. Every once in a while one of the other rises up while one of the top programs is having a down year.
