Can't wait for our new group of wing players to get in here, plenty of opportunity, even for 18 year old freshmen. This game reiterates that.

Jason Carter out for the game on the 1st play of the game - not good.
Remind me again why we are playing in this minor-league tournament?

Nothing to gain.

Zero.
Zero? AJ Clayton getting time. Team comradery. One more time to root for BVP.

And it took a serious injury to Carter 10 seconds into the game for Clayton to get this playing time. Without it, he's not getting the minutes in this game.

B-Rod has been an exemplary Cat but dang has he gone from OH YEAH to OH NO when he shoots. Miles also thrust into a role by McDay he wasn't ready for. If AJ Brown and Elmore James don't join Sears, Clayton and DW3 in starting lineup I will be SHOCKED.

Agreed. But, how about a couple of Portal guys instead of the freshman?

Free throws have been disappointing tonight. Nearly everyone is going 1/2 from the line.

We need portal guys who are 6-5 to 6-7 who 3 and D. Basically an Ali Ali type guy or two.

The best thing about playing in this tournament was that for the first time all season BRod made two three-point shots in a row. Granted it was at Daytona’s Dave & Busters…but still..something to build on for next season.

It is not a stretch to say that he has the worst offensive efficiency rating of any division one basketball player this year that averaged more than 20 minutes per game. We watched this epic decline for 35 straight games this season. He can’t start next year.

I wish Boals answered some of the questions this year like McDay...Brod and his decline..why did AJ get grounded..why did Towns get grounded..why was IJ and Olumide in doghouse?

And say what you will about this tournament but if you love OU hoops we are at March 21 and still able to have a game. Not too shabby.

We scored 57 in the second half and it wasn't enough. 29-36 in the first half and 57-55 in the second.

I think all the guys whom some of you are implying were in Boals “doghouse” really weren’t. I think it’s always been more of an issue that they don’t have the skill set yet or in some cases may never, to earn court time. Saul was excoriated on this board for not recruiting a sufficient amount of D1 talent. Not suggesting in any way that Boals be “Sauled” but it’s also obvious the recruiting needs addressed. While no one could have predicted BRod’s inexplicable collapse and the McDay departure it was obvious early on that the Calvery was not coming when looking down the bench. All in all it was a great season. Lots of it still attributable to Saul holdovers. I know there is much anticipation that next years incoming class has immense talent. Let’s hope so.

Boals made an interesting one-line statement in his postgame interview. He talked about all the obvious problems that the team faced with injuries and other things everyone knew, and then added something like, "and the other problems no one knew about." It sounded like he was saying that there were some problems only known to team members and staff. Not at all sure what that might be, but I'd never heard him mention anything like that before. It was, as I said, kind of one-liner quickly said and then on to something else. He had stressed earlier in the interview what high-quality guys we had on the team and what a pleasure they were to coach, so I don't think we are talking about locker room dissension or anything remotely in that category. But taking that out of the equation, it left me wondering what the heck he might be talking about.

I'm of the opinion that if you're not going to share with the public what the "other problems no one knew about" were then you shouldn't mention it at all. That is a coach's prerogative, keeping team problems in house. But giving hints to team problems without revealing what they are only leads to assumptions and rumors. If you're going to keep it in house, then keep it in house.

It was great seeing the Bobcats last night! They played very hard! Losing JC on the first play hurt. Can’t wait to see this team next year! Also got to talk to Tommy Freeman and Geno Ford. Both at the game!

The McDay issue is really none of our business. It's a personal health/wellbeing issue. I hope he stays in school and is happy.

I've heard that the loss of McDay was felt most at practice, where he always played hard and pushed others to get better.

Following this game via the Gamecast was torture. We'd score after an extended period then they'd score a layup or jumper about 2 seconds later.

Were you using the ESPN one? Seemed like the Cats would get within 5-6 points but could never break through. Was basically a repeating cycle the entire game sequence listed.
