You think these coaches are with kids 24/7, watching them in the locker room? Yes they should be mentoring these young men, but they still do stupid things.
As for the “boomer” comment, I did not mean it that way. I personally applaud the University and the MAC on their decision. My point was, athletes and young people view this much more differently than the older crowd.
There is no implication or expectation that they would be there 24/7. The lessons they teach should be carried with them 24/7. I can't be with my children 24/7 but I would expect them to act accordingly. I am more than confident that they understand to think first and expect consequences that are severe when they "do stupid things"
I did not accuse you of saying "boomer". I said I expected it much earlier. As I read Alan's comments I fully thought it would come. I did not infer that you were invoking the Boomer retort.
