The best 1st-half effort from a Bobcat tonight had to be from the clock operator when, with 7 seconds left and UT inbounding the ball, he started the clock 3-4 seconds early and almost got away with it.

This team needs someone other than the big 3 to step it up on the offensive end. Unfortunately OUr team is not getting Preston or DWIII back and probably not McDay either. While I feel UT fans are comfortable/confident with any of their 5 starters being a threat on offense, I know I can't say that beyond BVP, Carter and Sears. OUr other 2 starters arrived in Athens with a reputation of being scorers/shooters. We sure haven't been seeing that this season.

I'm back to thinking Rollins is the premier player in the league. Towns, I thought, guarded him as well as any other Bobcat tonight.

I'm not sure I've heard the Convo ever as loud as it was tonight for a basket that pulled us to within 10 points... I can only imagine if we had found a way to pull even. Definitely great to have a strong student turnout.

Carter injury completely sucked the air out of the entire place. You could feel it just kill any momentum we had going. Have a very clear few from my perspective, and it definitely looked like cramps to me. He was in extreme pain but it was pretty clear to me that it was impacting BOTH of his upper thigh muscles, which immediately gave me some hope that it wasn't an ankle or knee injury.

Unforunately, even being an Olentangy Liberty alum I have to agree. He really hasn't been working out. Yes he has had some layups and good defensive plays here and there but he hasn't been consistent this year. I think it would hopefully extremely motivate him if we end up starting Towns. Towns is looking extremely promising on both sides of the ball. Kid can play.

Maybe, just maybe, because they were longer and more athletic and the outside shots just were t falling.

No (nor has anyone even implied that) - just reduce his time. Others are showing they are able to contribute more than he is when on the court. Or do you think playing time should be determined by something other than who is able to contribute most to the team?

The season is not over. I can’t recall any year no matter how good the team when we didn’t have a disappointing loss or losses. It is a test of our players and coaches to see if we can rise to the occasion. There are many hopeful developments including the emergence of Townes, Clayton and Schmock and Brown gets better each game. This team has some proven talent and a lot of potential talent. Last year we were nowhere as far along at this stage and it had a great end.

I am looking forward to the next game.

Rollins credited with 26 points and FIVE steals! Sounds like a DJ Cooper performance line!

I was sitting behind the 2nd half Toledo basket and I got to say the final dunk was one of the finest I have witnessed. The ball handler goes against our lone defender and instead of making a contested layup he flips it off the glass to a trailer who smashes it home. Time out OHIO and the celebrating Rockets are pushed to their bench by their three buddies.

Probably really overdue for a game like this. We had soft wins over much inferior competition (Concordia and St Francis, to name two) and Toledo just reminded us that you can't get away with much against good teams. It also showed how thin we are with the bigs. With DW3 done for the season and Clayton not available last night we were goners when Carter went down.

Going forward, I'd really hate to be in NIU's shoes Tuesday night. I imagine that the team will be looking to vent some frustrations from last night.

While the loss last night hurts, as a MAC basketball fan it was a pleasure watching that match up. Toledo brought their A game we brought our... let's say C game... now just imagine if both teams were firing on all cylinders. Would have been an all-timer.

Can't wait to see these guys again in Toledo then of course smash them in the MAC Championship game. :)

One of those games where we just for some reason didn't have juice coming out of the gates. Rollins is a player we know that. He's front runner for MAC Player of the Year right now. We don't have a Rollins. Next year, I think we'll hopefully see something resembling that with AJ Brown and Elmore James.

Key moment of the game no doubt was having the ball twice with a chance to cut it down to 4 or 3 and we don't get a shot off because of two ridiculous away from the ball offensive fouls on IJ. I have no clue what the refs were thinking. Those two fouls shut down the crowd and killed all momentum....not the Carter injury.

I said it before and I'll say it again....the games where not having Wilson that were going to really show up were: Kentucky, LSU, Toledo and Buffalo. So far we are 0-3 in those games. Tip your hat to Toledo. They were on fire with their shooting. Can they turn in another shooting performance like that against Ohio in two weeks and then again in March? I say no.

Bottom line....we are good. Do we have another gear to take it another level? To me, Roderick is the key. Sorry, but we aren't getting production there. Been frustrating to watch. Mind blowing how his shot isn't there. Nobody has said he can't contribute moving forward, but at what point does Boals give Towns and Clayton more of Roderick's minutes?

Side note...I still think Buffalo is going to have a huge say in March. Would be great to avoid Buffalo and Toledo until the MAC Championship game, but we'll have to win the regular season championship to avoid it I believe.

Not sure of the timeline and if what I noticed matches up with the events you mentioned. But there was a media time out in the 2nd half and the foul differential was something like 8-2 in favor of Ohio. I noticed UT coach K and an assistant having a heated discussion with the refs about this disparity. Sure enough, the refs called 2 or 3 quick fouls on Ohio coming out of that time out.

Yes, believe that could have been Moss. We were taunting him all night and I was making it known he should keep up the fouling, lol
