I see increasing recognition of our fair alma mater as OHIO in a national context. I wear a ball cap with an arched OHIO on it when traveling and increasingly I get folks who recognize it and say, "Go Bobcats," or something along that line. Yes, I do sometimes run into folks who think I'm supporting the junior institution, but that is becoming rarer. A strange exception is right here in the State of Ohio. I see more people confused in Cleveland than I find in say South Carolina, where I'll be vacationing in the middle of the next month.

Sears winning shot has some similarities with Bobby Tatum's game winner v. Ill St. in NCAA tourney first-round game 38 years ago. Illinois St., like Rice, took a lead with just seconds left. Tatum, like Sears, takes a bump that wasn't called a foul, yet hits the game winner at the buzzer.

How's that for a memory, Shabamon?
As I recall he hit it as he was falling down. And I think the game was in Tampa.
Yes, he was falling down when he made that shot. Just incredible that he made it.
But Robert's shot was after a 3/4 length court pass and was from 15-18 feet. Sears made a mean man move to the hole.
You old-timers are tough. Please note that I said "has some similarities."
Haha. Yes I guess I'm an old timer and yes I guess older generations are tougher than younger generations :) but for the record when I was in Tampa in 1983 I was 15 and went with my Pops.

I've been sporting OHIO logo'd apparel in my travels for decades. That has led to interactions with OHIO students/alumni/friends/strangers from Tokyo's Narita Airport to Valletta (Malta's capita) to Paris to Ribeauville to Florida to Atlanta, etc. Just adds to the fun of traveling.
