I assume you mean committed to a college basketball team next year? Care to share where your son will be playing?
Yes, that's correct. He's playing at Susquehanna University (D3) next year. Another kid is playing at Pfeiffer (D3) and the third kid is playing basketball and football at Bowie State (D2). The remaining 17 kids have not committed. 9 of those are DC All-Met performers and I'm sure will end up somewhere. I do know that one of the kids in his division (1st team all-division) is planning on just doing a gap year and try again for next year.
My son had actually toyed with the idea of trying to walk-on at Ohio and my wife was really pushing it because he could get in-state tuition since I'm an
. It ended up being his cheapest option including the Maryland schools he applied to but decided against it for a couple of reasons. One, he wants to play and two, they just brought in Chad Estis' son and they are similar players. He's a 6'2" (legit) 185lb PG. He was hampered by the fact that his entire high school career totaled 16 games (torn ACL wiped out sophomore and junior seasons). But funny thing happened on the way. I fell in love with D3 basketball. Unlike D1 it isn't trying to emulate the NBA and I hope it never does.
