Ryan, you've got to be correct.

And from a marketing standpoint it makes way more sense to use only one logo on EVERYTHING. Different logos are cool and well.. different but it does no good sometimes and can only create confusion. People will definitely be able to relate the new paint job logo to all of the exposure the team got on tv this past winter.

Props for the paint job, will definitely look good and will stand out on TV.

I only remember Iowa States court because they have a humungo logo of a tornado on it...

I'll take this logo over the old state outline any day of the week. I remember stating to a friend a couple years back it was time for change. Glad they finally made the change.

*I am not, have never been, and will never be in marketing.

Help me out here I am interested in hearing about the tornado, or more properly a Cyclone. Having watched the program and attended events at Hilton Arena but have never seen a Cyclone on the floor. What era was this? This is the present floor scheme under Hoiberg, Previous ones included "Cy" at center court. in a charicature of the lovable red bird. Please, if you can, help me out with a pic of the tornado

I think the tornado memory was actually the "cy" logo:

Having the 110 play while those guys were painting the Convo floor was genius; it really got those guys moving.

That pull back shot at the end is sweet--shows what a nice facility we have.

We're really lucky to have The Convo.  Finances are such that the building is a once in a lifetime (or more) stroke.  Gawd, imagine the bitching about lousy facility and lack of quality home sched if we had a typical MAC arena from the 50's thru 70's era.

Cool video.

The decision to make the logo that big might have been influenced by cost.  The video shows them painting directly over the old logo and if you notice, the new one was just the right size to cover up the old logo, and still have it centered.

My bet is it was A LOT cheaper than completely refinishing the entire floor, which would probably have been needed to remove the old logo and replace it with a new one the same size or even slightly larger.

That's how you stretch an athletic budget!  Go Jim.

The bad news is that next time, we become Russia University because it's going to take 8 time zones to cover that puppy up.

you can now see the new logo in action on ohiobobcats.com in the volleyball opener recap vid. The colors look really good on film and with bodies on the court you get a better since of how large it really is. (thatswhatshesaid). One things for sure, you definitely notice it.
