My brief observations from the opener:
  • SOPHOMORES!  Man did those 3 look good today.  Scary to say DJ looked even better than last year.  Silky About 4,000 sounds about right.  A decent crowd for a weak opponent early...But I still dont understand why there wasn't more on the heals of the March run.  A great team and a beautiful day to start the year and we can't even fill up the Ozone?

Was thinking the same thing. Attributed it to an o$u being on TV.

And who's going to tell AP that it was Armon Bassett, not Bennett?

I saw that on espn.com as well, what a joke.

Scratching my head here.  The O Zone overflowed into the upper section.

My guess is that Ruck was talking about the first section, the one directly across from Ohio's bench, which wasn't full. The two middle sections were packed, and some above the rail also.

But IMO a good start for the O Zone, and I'm hoping they can fill up that whole side this season. For a 4/5K crowd, it seemed pretty loud yesterday. And like someone else mentioned, a good game to gain new fans if that is the first game one has attended at OU.

Yeah, that was indeed the biggest part of my reference.  There was a spattering of people there, and no more than 5 Ozone shirts.  Being that was my section back in my Ozone days, and it was always packed when school was in session even without the 110 taking up 1/4th of the Ozone...And we didn't exactly have any defending MAC champ teams let alone a team that beat up on Georgetown in the tourney.  And I didn't notice any overspill.

I know I have unrealistic expectations...but I kept thinking about how Court Street was shut down from supposed adoring fans that were so excited about beating Georgetown, and the very first game following that run, the vast majority of those people are already off the bandwagon.  It blows my mind.
