....but UCLA (unranked) loses to KU by 1....on a horrible call....at Allen Fieldhouse.

We lost by 57. Gotta get off it, but man that still hurts me personally.

It probably doesn't make you feel better but NC State, a team that a lot of people thought could finish 2nd in the ACC this year, lost to Wisconsin (not ranked) by 39 points this week.

Dude, let it go.  It was one game.  A huge crappy mess of a game, but it is just one loss.  We bounced back, took care of business the next night.  That tells me as much about this team as the beating does.

But they lost to UNLV and Notre Dame, who are no slouches, but it's not like they're a powerhouse...and I'm a casual Badger fan.

Kansas may have had an off night against UCLA or the Bruins may have had a better game plan.  One thing is for certain...after the G-town game, no team is taking OU for granted.  Beating G-town earned OU some respect, which can work against us sometimes.

The first step to letting it go is shutting up about it! I wish you would pay the same attention to big wins that you have to this big loss!  Let it go, Love, let it go.  We got housed by Pittsburgh last year and still had a great finish to the season.  Give it some time and maybe we will be rewarded again.

We lost to Pitt by 25 on their home court.  Yes that was a lousy game, and yes Kansas is better, but we lost on a neutral court to the Jayhawks by 57!  32 more points!

I am amazed at how easily some people are blowing that loss off.  It was a horrendous, embarassing performance.  Good teams simply don't lose by those margins.  If that margin of defeat wasn't the worst in program history, it has to be among the worst

Flomo--Remember it.  Live it, love it.

But ya just can't think about it too much.  Or it'll drive you crazy, poison your thinking, keep us from doing better, getting better.

Remember:  We lost Freeman, many true frosh playing large minutes and one member of our front court not playing as he can.  Plus, Kansas is deep and experienced.  Semi-analogy:  think it would do any good for Georgetown to carry a hangover from their last game last year?

See the humor/shrug-your-shoulders of it and move on, at least somewhat.

This is ironic coming from someone that is still harping about the football team's loss to Marshall two and a half months ago...

Oh, c'mon, you can't be so silly as to not see the difference.  We had no chance vs. Kansas in hoop whereas we were right there and should have won (horrid first half) vs. stupd cow in football.

I know that you like to yank chain my, but you gotta at least make it plausible.

I'd be right there with you Monroe if this was a run of the mill, 20-30 point loss.  We lost by 57!  Fifty-seven!  I can't remember OU ever losing a game that badly.  If that isn't the worst loss in program history, it has to be the worst one in the last 25-30 years.

Beat downs like that just don't happen to teams that are supposed to be top 100-125 clubs.  Just today, a BGSU team projected by pretty much everyone to be much worse than us lost in East Lansing to a top 6 MSU team by 35.  Hardly anything to write home about, but still 22 points less than we lost to Kansas on a neutral court!  Similarly, a Miami team also routinely predicted to finish behind us was able to stay within 35 of #1 Duke in Cameron.  Hell, TOS was able to stay within 40 of a Kansas team that won the national championship in 2008, in Kansas City no less.

I don't care if we are starting 5 walk-ons, we should never lose to anyone by 57 points.

The fact is we have played 5 home games and two nuetral court games. We haven't even played a true road game yet. That has to be a huge concern. Right now I'll say we lose to both Illinois State and St Bonaventure.  Temple likely another home loss.  This team has a lot of work to do before we start playing the MAC a month from now. Right now this teams needs to get focused and play smart and with urgency at home.

It was a week ago... how long should I be upset about it, exactly?  I'm way more upset about the loss today, to be honest.

The loss today just confirms the concern many of us (you included) stated more than a week ago. It's not to dwell on the loss, it's to dwell on the issues this team has. Too many people are way too high on this team just due to one good week last March, and even worse, think as long as we have one more good week in March this year then all is still good.

A good team, regardless of losing TFree, regardless of playing a top ranked team, regardless of playing freshmen more minutes, figures out a way to keep the loss under 57. Then again a good team doesn't lose at home by double digits to both Oakland and Marshall. So, it's less about dwelling on Kansas and more about dwelling on the fact this team just isn't very good.

look, these guys went in thinking they were giant killers, thinking they could hang with or even beat Kansas, which is a great attitude to have. But, the problem is, when it started to fall part, the wheels came off completely. So 57 isn't any different than 27. Once they were out, they were out, there was just more time on the clock. And to Kansas' (dis)credit they didn't let up, they keep hitting 3 pointers and alley oop dunks till the very end.

So stop dwelling on the number, its irrelivent. What is relevant is what it represents- a team that  isn't ready yet, physically or mentally. I think these guys could give Kansas a good game in March, maybe even February, but not November.

This team will be better this March then it was last March, but the truth is its not going to be better than last March right now. We have some growing to do but we'll get there.

Agree on that. Because today was a winnable game, against a rival school. Bad loss. Oakland - bad loss. Gotta win those before you can worry about hanging with Kansas.

57 points is bad. But it's not like it counts for 4 losses since it's over 50 points or anything. I'd be more upset if we lost by one because I'd have said we had a chance and let it slip.

Be more worried that this team won't win the MAC playing like they did today. Sloppy all around. Groce's comments post game today spell out why I'm disappointed on where the team is right now.

Killed by 57..take the lesson that there's a lot of work to be done...but dwelling on it would be psych crushing.

What--you're gonna tell me that there'd be joy and good in it if we'd only have lost by 22?!  That is weird.
