What a win. Absolutely had two guys that would NOT be denied tonight.

DJ COOPER and NICK KELLOGG put this team on their backs tonight.

Really hoping this win turns things around. The bigs have to get better, and fast.

Great to see Kellogg having a coming out party here.  The transition -- even from high-level high school ball -- to DI is a huge one, and it is good to see him making that transition already.  Hope he keeps it up!

Holy hell.

That was like watching the 2004 Cleveland Cavaliers.

Cooper put it all on his back. The interior defense was atrocious. Washington finally stepped up midway through the second half and Keely got that one block. Kellogg hit timely shots, but I don't know if we've seen one guy win a game for Ohio like that for a while. Maybe Tillman at Millett.

But that was a treat to watch. He's special. The one runner he made I want to see again. It was like he magically released it without moving his arm.

Leon Williams looked good in #5 jersey too.  But Cooper looks very good in #5.

Tillman at Miami. Leon against Cornell. Bubba against George Mason. Those are the only ones that come time mind since I've been paying attention.

Not to take anything away from Jerome's monster showing at Miami, but Coleman also had a very good game and hit the free throws down the stretch that sealed it.

I really "like" DJ, but I "loved" Leon.  Then again, we still potentially have 2.5 more years of DJ and this could change.

Still none of them come close to AB Mac semis against Kent.

There might be something to the #5. Look for Phil Bates and Octavius Leftwitch to use the New Orleans Bowl as a springboard into 2011.

Good win.

Everyone settle down.

1994: Gary Trent vs. BGSU...46 points (I think 40 in the 2nd half?!). He literally carried the Bobcats (and every BG defender) on his back for 40 minutes.

DJ was good tonight...Gary made himself a legend at Ohio for that 2nd half.

1994 qualifies as a "while," wouldn't you say?

That's so depressing to read that and know what you say is true.

1. I didn't think there was a timeline.
2. Don't remind me of my age (I could still whip your arse)
3. Get off my lawn.

Kalvin Mcrae folks.  Best offensive player in OU history.

How about the football and basketball coaches make #5 a special number at Ohio that only special players can wear.  Would be a cool little tradition.

He said he hadn't seen that "for a while."  Consensus is the last time was Tillman at Miami... that could be considered a while, too.

Correct me if Im wrong Love...but I think he was saying the best to ever wear the Bobcat basketball uniform is DJ Cooper.  He wasn't saying DJ is the best to wear the #5 jersey...He was saying he is (or could become?) the best basketball player in OU basketball history.

That is how I read it too.  However, DJ has a long way to go until he overtakes Frankie B.  #54 is the only jersey to hang in the rafters right now.  (Now that meets the definition of a while.)

I guess you don't go to many games do you?  Either that or you do not look up!  Because Dave Jamerson hangs off the Catwalk

But isnt Baumholtz the only "retired" number? I thought Jamerson and Luckett's names are up there, but their numbers aren't officially retired. Im not sure though, I could be wrong. I thought I read that somewhere

The comment was "hanging from the rafters" not retired, however you are correct Frank's is the only number retired.
