So who else will be making the trip to the JAR?  I'll be there +3 or 4.  Any particular section of GA for the Bobcat fans?

Also, Andy Katz mentions the game in his Mid-Major Watch this week.

What you shouldn't miss

Wednesday -- Ohio at Akron: The Bobcats are the defending MAC champs led by lefty D.J. Cooper, one of the most electrifying players in the conference. Akron is a blue-collar, grind-it-out team. This game will be physical and emotional, and the winner gets a leg up in the tough MAC East.

I disagree. I think our problem is more of playing consistent than anything else. I'll take us in a one game situation with us playing with a chip on our shoulder. What I don't think we can do is put together any type of 3 game winning streak. I almost wouldn't be that surprised to see us win tomorrow night, be feeling all great again and then have another let down to Kent State at home.

Comment by Keith Dambrot last week when asked by radio announcer about facing DJ Cooper:

"He's one of the better guards in the league, but he has shot his team out of a few games this year."

What does he know?

Ohio and Akron match up just perfectly.  These games have been coin flips the last few years.  Plus, these guys do NOT like the Zips.  They want this.

Didn't Keely have a career game in the JAR last year? Love to see him get going again, especially against arguably the best frontline trio in the league - McKnight, Cvetenovic, Marshall.

Most of you probably know where you are going in Akron, but since I might be going by myself tomorrow night I called to ask about parking.  Parking Passes are needed for the lot next to the JAR and across from it which includes a parking deck.
If I understood correctly, the E.Campus Deck will be available.  That deck is boxed in by Spicer St. on the west, Goodkirk St on the east, Buchtel on the north, and Carroll on the south.  The JAR is on Carroll.  There is a big lot on Spicer at the new Rec center, but that may be roped off and unavailable.
I am showing up early so that I can find a place to park that is pretty close

After searching I found this map:

www.uakron.edu/resources/campusMapNew/

Click on parking and a bunch of  blue Ps pop up.

FYI -   If coming  in on 77
           77North to OH-8 North (1 mile)
           exit  OH-18/Carroll/Buchtel
           merge onto Fountain
           left at E. Buchtel
1st left onto Goodkirk       that's the parking deck

It is snowing here now -  hopefully it will all be clear for tomorrow night.

If Marshall shows up like he did against Kent, we'll have our hands even fuller than normal inside.  However, he has seemed to be a bit inconsistent.

I'm going to predict OT, just based on our recent games this season, and with Akron.  We love OT games with Akron.

I wonder if Dambrot is quoting Elton, or if Elton is quoting Dambrot.  In a recent article, Elton trashed the Bobcats, ranking them as the weakest team in the MAC East, and called out DJ Cooper in the same words used by Dambrot.  Elton says there is no sign that Ohio is any better than they were during the regular season over the past two seasons.  He says the Bobcats can't handle the pressure of building on the successful run at the end of last season.

It wouldn't surprise me if they came to the same conclusion independently of eachother...It's not hard to do if you look purely at our stats and results.

Dambrot's comments were prior to Elton's article. The EA article was absolutely scathing.

He doesn't have to Dragon, all he has to do is read this board after one of our losses and his columns become easy to write.

Very suspicious timing of Elton's column and Dambrot's words since they said the exact same thing about D.J. and our team a couple of days apart. In his re-prediction of the conference (which might be a first in journalism history), Elton also picked Toledo to finish third in the West because they had won three in a row, two of which came against Florida Gulf Coast and Indiana Northwest. Then the next day they lost by 23 at home to Eastern Michigan. And he also had Cleveland State as a near-lock for an at-large bid. How's that looking?

During the interview with Dambrot in the pregame when he was asked about the rivalry between these teams he said, "oh, I don't think it's dislike... blahblah"

You are wrong, Keith. It is dislike. HUGE DISLIKE.

Russ just declared the game over with over 7 minutes left...whoa whoa whoa...Bobcats are playing very well but it's never over on the road, especially against Akron.

Now the Cavs game last night...that was over...at halftime

Nick likes the JAR.

That was a lot of fun to listen to.
