Jay Kinney was ejected last year in the game against Buffalo for less than that.
What the hell were these refs looking at today because it was not this game?  I could see that (^) not being a foul if the guy was going to box out Tommy, yet he does not even turn around and that is a elbow straight to the head.  I really wish Groce will call these guys out (via press conference, etc.) after he sees the video footage because the refs were only there to collect a paycheck and not to keep order in this game.

edit: elbow, not shoulder

Thanks for posting this.  I did not get a good view of this in real time at the Convo.  I think my view was screened by the other Ohio player you see shuffling along the sidelines at the back of the screen.  At any rate, this certainly looks intentional.  I've seen Tommy flop as much as anyone, and this does NOT look like a flop..  Let me also add that most of time he gets in position for legitimate charges and takes the charge.  I think if the opposing coaches were up in arms and got the MAC refs to single out Tommy for special treatment that it's primarily unfair to TF because he does get in position correctly most of the time on charges.  He assess where the offensive player is going.  Gets to that spot.  Positions himself.  And, then takes a legitimate charge.  He should not be singled out for special ref treatment because he is a master at taking a charge.  A true flop, yes that shouldn't be called.  But, IMHO, most of TF's charge taking last year were not flops but legit.  Shame on the MAC office for bowing to the will of loud-mouthed coaches who had players with basketball IQs somewhat less than Tommy's and didn't know how to cope with a talented charge-taker.

On the slo-mo, Tommy's hands fly up as anyone's would who in the case of getting more or less blind-sided.  So, here the hands fly up is no flop.

Next, it seems as if the Beefs player drives up and thru Tommy.  It seems as if the Beef guy could have hit Tommy as natural hard contact.  It was going to be a big collision.  But the dude seems to drive up and thru Tommy (intentional) instead of hitting and recovering/keeping his own position so as to keep playing.  The due sees a chance to take a shot and pretty much maximizes what he can get.  Others might have hit and tried to limit the severity of it.  This guy went for it.

Is that the new box-out technique being taught overseas? It was definitely a foul, a very hard one at that, the league office will review this and discipline can still come down.

If Tommy's "flopping" is a league wide issue, then his coach needs to do  a better job of protecting his senior player and his style of play.  I'm sure he "defended" him in the meeting, but he needs to continue the push.  Hopefully Groce is stepping up to the responsibility.

I hope there will be discipline. I don't know what angle the refs were looking at but it sure looks like an intentional and flagrant foul to me. How do three refs totally miss that call. I hope Mr. Lichiiter takes a long hard look at that play. I believe he was at the game yesterday grading out the refs. I'll save you some time Sam, D-. While you're at it, check out the clipping call that should have been made when they knocked Reg out of bounds and gave them the ball back.
