I watched UB demolish Geno & the Flashes as I listened to us lose to inferior talent at BG(per the usual in Anderson).

Mulkey was absolutely on fire last night. Anything near the performance that I watched and the Bobcats will have their hands full. Let's hope the Convo gets back to being a tough place to play for opponents though... Starting Saturday!

I'll be honest, I'm a UB and Ohio fan. The Bobcats always come first to me. All season long, I have thought that Ohio was the better team. I would get in arguments with my friends at home.

Now however, I don't know. UB just crushed Kent State by 25 and we lost to them.

I think Ohio is way more talented but younger and underperforming while I feel as though UB is overperforming.

I have no clue who is going to win. Up until last game, I had Bobcats winning. Now I think I have UB taking the game.

Prediction:

UB 77
Ohio 71

Bulls had a few good OOC performances, but man did they look dominant against Kent.  This league, however, is a crazy tossup yet again this year.  Who the heck knows?  All I know is I'll be there to witness it!

This team is an enigma. A mystery wrapped in a riddle. Much like a midget.

No one knows when they feel like playing. But Saturday we win by 6. 85-79.

Buffalo is a guard-oriented team that relies on Byron Mulkey and Zach Filzen. Hopefully we match up on them better. Javon McCrea has played really well in MAC play, and he concerns me some. He's strong at 245, but not real tall at 6-6.

Buffalo statistically relies more on Michael Watt than either of those players.

Mitchell Watt is a nice player. He averages 8.8 ppg in 20.5 minutes. Not a bad scoring rate for a guy who only plays about half the game. Despite being 6-10, he isn't a great rebounder at 5.3 rpg.

Mulkey and Filzen are both over 14 ppg. McCrea is at 14 a game in MAC games even though he is averaging only about 23 minutes. I'd say all three of those guys are relied on statistically a lot more.

I do not think this team has a lack of effort. There has been a transformation under Groce. His teams do not take games off or not come to play. There is a number of ways this team has lost but I have not found a game where they did not show up. At BG the bigs were manhandled while the offense had no answer for their defensive scheme. In the Overtimes we lost due to errors in judgement, fatigue and lack of personnel along with the errors of youth, Kansas was not because they did not run with gusto up and down the court but that they were truly overmatched and manhandled. One of the things that used to bother me was that feeling that the team did not get off the bus (life on the road, let's just go in and get on the plane to hawaii or home). Have not seen that in the last 2 seasons.

Groce has said multiple times in post game interviews on the radio that he wasn't happy with the guys effort for either an entire game or during stretches of a game. It's not really that outlandish for bobcat28 to say that.

Whatever it is, there seems to be too much of it (problems).  Gonna be a long year unless something changes dramatically.

Well, I guess I should say that it's going to be a short year if nothing changes.

I've been a grad student at buffalo for...well lets just say for too long (but OHIO '05). I feel no loyalty to UB. The best thing that can be said about UB athletics is "free parking, and plenty of it". Please 'Cats, WIN THIS ONE! Its cold and grey up here, and if the 'Cat's lose we're looking at another 6 months of winter (incidently, we're looking at 6 months of winter if the 'Cats win too).

Buffalo putting it together. And I think this home loss thing is in our heads by now. Not good.

Since this game is on an ESPN network will it also be on ESPN3.com?  I don't get ESPNU so I'm looking for a way to watch it..

It's not on the ESPN3 schedule. I think typically they don't offer ESPNU games on ESPN3 as they're still trying to get more providers to offer ESPNU.

OhioBobcats.com offers free video webcasts for all home games. I assumed that since this as an ESPN broadcast that they wouldn't be allowed to do it. However, there is a link to it. You can try this at game time and see what happens: http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/ohio.portal#

Else, most any sports bar has ESPNU.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting it to be available either, but so far it appears to be up and running.  Thanks

Due to a nasty flu bug I am watching at home today..Just wondering about the elbow to Tommy.  If in fact they are able to review that call (what the indicated on TV) then how did they not make a call there???

Seemed kind of odd to me.
