By rule, he won't play the next game for getting ejected.  I doubt there will be anything else past the auto 1 game suspension.

According to the Toledo Blade, Kraus is suspended for their next game vs. Miami. The article made it sound like it was by rule. If you're ejected for a flagrant foul, then you are suspended for the next game.

I thought Uncle Louis should've been T'd up as well for his refusal to stay off the court. He was warned more than once to step back but he kept walking out onto the floor. Seemed like a couple of the officials spent more time talking to him than they did watching the game. Annoying.

Grumbling aside.... *whew* .... it was great to get that win. I was worried for a while. So happy for Tommy breaking the record (hey, only something like 34 more to set a new MAC record?), and Devo and Reggie were both HUGE. Rough night for Ivo though.

Which reminds me... Mike C... not sure if you were able to see it, but some students in the very front of the OZone had a big banner that said "Where will you be for the IVO-LUTION" ... so you're too late on your copyright.

Reggies comin out party.

Reggie had a great last 9 or so minutes of the game.  The run that took us from 1 down to 10 up was fueled almost entirely by Reggie and Tommy.   His energy really jumped up noticably after a tentative first half.

Does anybody know if that's the end of the story or is this something that the league will review and possibly levy addition discipline?

I'm pretty sure the leauge reviews all kinds of plays like that, but I'm doubting there would be anything extra. It wasn't terribly melicious, just stupid.

Did something happen in the handshake line after the game? Watching on TV it looked like there was some sort of commotion behind Tommy or maybe one of the guys refused to shake his hand. The TV cameras switched to the rest of team gathered at mid-court and they all appeared to be looking back toward the scorers table where Tommy was. Then, Keely went and grabbed Tommy and brought him to mid-court. But Tommy still seemed upset about something when leaving the floor.

This MIGHT be it...don't know...I saw a few minutes of the STO replay early this morning, including the hand shake line after the game...it appeared to me that one of BGSU's asst coaches MAY have been trash talking Tommy.

During the hand shake BGSUcks Assistant Dennis Hopson shooks Tommy Freemans hand and told him that he was a great player,  but that Tommy needed to quit flopping,   I watched the broadcast again this morning and you can read Hopson's lips as he mentions flopping.  Face it Hopson,  BG had no answer for Tommy Freeman and you got an Ass Kickin in the Convo and  on STO !

Hopson needs to worry about his Bush League player and IMO,  the take out on Tommy was planned, Kraus and Hopson we're sitting together on the bench,  before Kraus enters the game in the final minute. then Hopson has some words for Tommy after the game during the hand shake.      Coincidence ?  I think Not.

I would say that considering the circumstances that they would look at something like this a lot more closely. This wasn't a heat of the battle kind of thing like what happened at Ball State. This was a guy specifically seeking out a player after the result had been determined and cheap shotting him. Add to that that it wasn't just a hard foul but punch(es) being thrown and I would think the league would want to send a message that this sort of thing can't be tolerated.

Along with that energy, Keely also looked comfortable out on the floor. His body language was different than earlier in the season. Really nice to see that.

Hopson was a bit of a flop himself in the NBA.

Watched the replay this morning and when they trap Tommy with 49.2 to go he calls the time out. As Tommy starts for the bench Kraus gives him a shove in the back then. Not sure what started it, but totally  uncalled for. League really needs to take a look at this. Could have been a serious injury on the play. Luckily for Tommy I don't think he hit the bleachers.

Not to mention the fact that BG was the beneficiary of a flop that gave Baltic his 4th foul. That kept them in the game as he was carving up the zone with his passes from the high post. Of course, Washington went right back down the court and flopped for a foul vs. BG. Heads-up play because you know the refs blew the Baltic call and we're ready to give a make-up back to Ohio.

Kraus might've had a better night than Tim Floyd.

If I were John Groce I would be calling Louis Orr and telling him in no uncertain terms that if he has a problem with any of his players that he and his coaching staff should bring it up with him and refrain from talking to his players other than the perfunctory "good game".

During the first half I had the same thought about getting Orr off the court. He clearly interfered with player movement on at least two possessions that I noticed. Orr essentially became a 6th defender amid fairly intense effort on BG's part.

In one instance, Freeman did an excellent job avoiding contact in an obscure manor. I thought to myself that he should have made sure to have run into him and forced the issue of getting the coach out of the area of play. But then I reversed myself that in no way should Freeman be running into the coach, as he's already got a pretty solid reputation as a player who knows when and how to fall down.

That's why we should have a big lurpy walkon.

I'm also willing to put a large part of responsibility for this on Convo management, as I've long held that our benches are way to close to the court. If we can't give the coach a couple feet to walk up and down the bench, we should go the Vanderbilt route and put the benches on the endlines.

I'm not sure who this Hopson character is, but I did notice the assistant in the blue suit talking a little during the line through. Jon Smith looked like he wasn't going to take any of the dude's crap and blue suit dude made his way back to the losing teams locker room.

One thing I've learned. That the couple hundred people that rush out of the Convo with a minute to go (like there is such a thing as a traffic jam in Athens), they definitely miss out on what lots of us know to be a very interesting part of the game - team handshake. One thing I like about our team, chemistry issues or not, when another person/team/coach/whatever talks out of line, the rest of the team is always there to back each other up. Happened on the court and after games numerous times this season.

I thought that the attack of Tommy might be related to "flopping"  I get so sick of the growing hatred of guys who aren't afraid to stand their ground and take a charge.  And honestly, even if a play is a 100% fake flop...If it causes a turnover, it's a good play in my book.  But regardless, Mr Hopper should check the tape of all the times Tommy came away with blood and bruises for sacrificing his body.  What a joke.  I hope we get these clowns in the 1st round of the tourney so we can end their season.

I dont want to be a naysayer, but I feel like I was watching a different game with Reggie.  He had a few nice plays and played well in the final 8 minutes or so, but I found myself pretty frustrated with him and hoping he'd play with a little more authority, and longing for Ivo.

I am loving Ivo more and more...We need to keep him and Devo out of foul trouble.

Coach said in the postgame with Russ, that it was due to a violation of team rules and said nothing further about it.

I disagree. I think it's still bothering him quite a bit. He doesn't have that first step quickness that he normally has.  He also looks like he struggles changing direction.

Anyone see during the STO broadcast a 10-15 second close-up of Borna? Reghi said at the time that viewers were looking at "Basketball Deity" (not sure if I'm remembering it correctly, but it was something like "deity") before identifying Clark Kellogg sitting a row behind Borna. I thought it was pretty cool he was giving such high praise to a dad of an Ohio player before I was corrected.
