Attended the game at BG,  my 1st ever away game,  Our Bigs got pushed around and we didn't show any fight at all,  BG shot 7 for 14 from behind the arc. Scott Thomas had a nice game 19 points and 9 rebounds against us in the 1st go round and the team fed off his great play, as Thomas goes so does BG,  you have to know where he is the whole game, he averages 34 minutes playing time, Thomas is also BG's leading rebounder at 7.1 rpg  and he is 2nd on the team in assists with 3.3 apg.  Slow Thomas down and you slow BG down, BG has lost 3 straight games coming into the Convo  Wednesday Night and Thomas has average 10 points a game in those 3 losses.

I like our chance's against BG,  we are starting to turn the corner, showing a little more fight and a little more toughness. Ohio 6 and 2 in the last 8 games,  Scoring 76.5 ppg in the last 8 and giving up 71.8 ppg in the last 8 at a plus 4.7 point advantage.

But most important, we need to protect "The Round House on Richland"

Bobcats     75

BGSUcks   62

As a reminder, this is a 7:30 start not the customary 7.

They ever do anything over there like the Central Michigan guys with the toilet paper release? CMU used to toss Paper at the start of the game. Had to take time to pick it up when the home team scored the first bucket. With TV in the house would be pretty cool even if it all came back toward the cameras.

I also was there at BG for the first game. It was frustrating. It was one only MAC games were were not in at least until the final minute. BG really had it locked up with several minutes to go. They shot extremely well and dominated the paint, so it was a lethal combination.

Bowling Green is dead last in the MAC in 3-point shooting and among the bottom 10 or 15 in the country. Yet as has been the case, they shot it well that day against us. They also don't get to the foul line much and don't especially rebound well offensively. Defensively, they avoid fouling. But overall, even if you just consider MAC play where they are 7-5, they are a slighly below average offensively and defensively. They've been adept at winning close games (Ball State by 1, two OT games, a few games by 4-6 points).

They definitely have been struggling lately. They had it together last time they played us, but now maybe teams have figured them out. They've lost 4 of the last 5 overall after starting 6-2 in league play.

Calhoun has been a great post player for them, though, averaging 15 a game in MAC play. Scott Thomas is at about 14 a game. Dee Brown and Jordon Crawford have been decent scorers, but BG's shooters have just bad bad.

I feel pretty confident about this one. I think we win by 10-12 points and should have control throughout most of it. I think this could be another good game for our shooters, so I hope they knock them down. It'd be nice to be above .500 in MAC play for the first time this year and get some more confidence going into Saturday's road trip.

Good prospectus, Upsan...hope you're right about the margin of victory.  I know our guys will be looking for revenge after losing that one at BGSU.

By the way Ted, BGSU's fan website is Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba with the hyphens, not the way you have it linked.

I'd like to say that I am confident that this will be a win, but as we all know this is not the case. I'm guessing a game in the upper 60s or low to mid 70s and a 5 point win for the Cats.

Spread is us by 8. I like us in this one. I think the final score will be around the spread.

Previous Bobcat experiences (things starting to roll, everyone confident and expecting an easy win) has me thinking we'll lay an egg tonight...

But screw all that...I say the Bobcats by 25+ tonight!

I want to say we will win big but we can't look past BG or anyone in the MAC right now just for the fact it is two weeks til tourney time and teams that are hurting are in deseperate mode.  I am not saying we will get rocked by BG but never underestimate your opponent.  I will be watching the game on STO and hoping to see a great game by our Bobcats but I hope the players do not have the same attitude as most of you do.  I am sorry, you take one step at a time and epecially since we are playing so good right now and have a great opportunity to do something for a great seed.

Agree that we can't take any team lightly.  BGSU might be on a downward slide as of late, but they are still 7-5 and a game ahead of us in the East standings.

I figure the players and coaches are probably taking this game VERY seriously...unlike some fans who are already putting this one in the win column as an "easy" game.

No, definitely not easy. We're looking better but definitely not good enough for any MAC game to be "easy." But if we play like we've been and BG plays like they've been, we should win. I think we are the better team, but it's not always the better team that wins. We've got to play like we want it.

WHITE TRASH!

Can the MAC suspend someone for that premeditated horse****?  Not one elbow but two!

The BGSU President should kick that kid out of school.  What a classless act.  Instead they'll probably sue STO for showing it for 2 minutes straight and Reghi commenting how he would have not been as restrained as 3-Man.

I always considered BGSU as a rum-dum school and they gave me more evidence tonight.

What do you expect from a school who has a fan site called AyZiggyBoobiyaya or something like that.

39-22 on the glass for the Bobcats. 15-4 on the offensive glass. 12 each for Devo and Big Reg !!!!! Very nice effort on the boards for the bigs. Freeman plus the rebounding and ability to get to the foul line was the difference in this one. We out worked BGSU tonite and overcame a tough nite from Cooper, Baltic and Kellogg.  Keely gave us big minutes tonite in the second half.

Reggie's offensive rebound on a missed 3-Man trey then shot faking and getting it back out for a wide open bomb was when the Winning Team Losing Team cheer could have started.

Nice to see Reggie on the boards tonight, just would like to see him slam a few home once in a while when he takes the pass down on the blocks.

Probably not.  Even though the NCAA removed an elbow above the shoulders from common foul status, there's no mention of suspension for it.  Getting kicked out is about the worst that can happen.  Now, if he'd taken a swing at Tommy, that could've fallen under the fighting rule, which carries an automatic sit for the next game.

Glad Tommy and the rest of the team showed great judgment in not starting something.  Groce will need to have everybody available for Kent.

Now you know one of the reasons I didn't go to BGSUCKS, even tho I grew up 45 minutes from there.  Long, cold, bleak winters on a butt-ugly campus make people do f-ing stupid things.

I couldn't hear the commentary while watching, but the many replays seemed to show a closed first striking Freeman's face twice, although I'm not sure I'd call it a punch.

Aside from that, I was really happy to see the Bobcats win a game in which they didn't shot especially well.

The first one was an elbow, the second was a punch with closed fist.

It was a weak punch but I would consider it one.  Nothing behind it, like a toddler hitting a kid for taking his candy.  The wind hits harder.  But, all in all, it was suppose to be a punch which should result in a suspension.  The ball was clearly past him and he wasn't advancing towards the ball.  He was concerned with taking out Tommy and that is where the MAC needs to or at least the BG AD needs to address it with a suspension.
