Cannot take this team lightly. They are likely the best non conference team that will visit the Convo this year. They have wins over Florida State and USF and lost by just five to 11-1 College of Charleston.

Most years the talent on the current Florida team would put it near the top of the SEC. This season? Not so much, although the season is still young. The SEC is scary this time.

I would not have picked winless rebuilding Louisville to beat WKU by double digits. Looking at the current AP Top 25, there is not a single mid unless you consider Gonzaga one. The talent gap between the "big names" and the mids might be growing but there needs to be a little more sample size post-Covid.

Lost at #26 College of Charleston by only 6 points.

Saturday is going to be difficult...but every game from here on out will be...including Chicago State.

It is what it is at this point.

This team should take nobody lightly. In fact, they should play every game and conduct every practice as if the season is on the line. The sense of urgency seems to be lacking IMO.

I've lived through D1 athletics and a sense of urgency in every detail of the craft is essential to find success.

Can't say that I have witnessed any practice time so maybe Boals is preaching this kind of approach but we've yet to see any sort of consistent improvement from anybody really.

We take one step forward then three steps back.

Let's use this game as a great opportunity to take a step forward.

definetlky right about thye growing talent gap between the high and low majors. its only going to get worse because of that damn transfer portal. now the non power 5 teaams have to deal with the same issue the big boys do in keeping their players.many a player who flew under the radar will get signed by a mid to low major team then bolt from that school after one really good year maybe two at most. jasrrn simmons went nto michigan forn his senior year. mark sears went to alabama after his first year at ou. the rich will continue getting richer while the otheres get poorer. id bet emoni bates will wind up at duke or some other power school next year if he decides he dont like where he,ll get drafted

This is a good game to see what this team is capable of. Can they put the terrible effort in Florida behind them. See if the seniors step up and lead. Coming off one of the worst efforts in many years. No excuse for Ohio to lose by third plus to anyone. They didn't show up. Hunter and Baker have been bust so far. Boals has to lite a fire in them. These are experienced D-1 guards and they played like garbage so far. Not up to the standards of the MAC. MAC requires elite guard play to win. If this team wants to play a the level expected. Hunter and Baker must step it up.

We need a win. The road to victory goes through AJB.

Note to cc-cat: I didn't say that no one could disagree with that statement.

I agree that our guard play is the answer to improve our team's performance. I do see coach giving more PT to Brown and he seems to be performing. His FG% is better than our 2 starting guards. It also seems that he gets to the line more as well, and now is the second leading scorer.

FYI...don't look now but Roderick is hitting 50% of his shots, maybe he is on his way back? More PT? Use Ben as an example for the young guys to take after. It would have been easy for him to mail in his last year. GO BEN!

Averaging 11 points in 18 minutes.

Long past time to let AJB cook.

Starting today is a good sign going forward. Let him get 35+.

Well this team needed this half. Coaches wanting offense to go fast and be aggressive. Players responding. And, uh, AJ Brown is gooood.

Got the dub 85-66. Five guys with double digit points. Dwight with a 20 pt game, AJB with 13 along with his first ever start as a Bobcat. GWiz one RB short of a double double

I really wish him well but he was 0/7 today. He’ll be okay I think and will probably win a game for us sometime. We need all the depth we can get, just hope he gets hot at some key times.

IMO, that was a great team effort today in the Convo. I couldn't be more pleased with the coaches' lineup changes.. I feel it could be affective in the future. If those guys continue to bounce back, gel, gain trust against in one other against other opponents, I see no reason we shouldn't be competitive this year in the MAC.

Could not agree more. How about Ajay Sheldon giving great minutes!

I was glad to see AJ Brown get the start today as well. What many seem to not realize is that he has been recovering from an injury and that Boals has been working him into more PT as he recovers. In a recent interview AJB said he was at about 75% (can't remember where it was - I think it was w/Russ post game recently). I noticed AJB giving his shoulder some attention during the game today.

Why only 15 minutes for Clayton today?

Did he get hurt?

Not hitting shots, bad shots, bad passes, not grabbing/securing rebounds. I'm a fan of him but just not effective/producing lately.....
